Virgin Media vs Sky One

Options
(please move this if its in the wrong place)

If you are a Virgin Media Customer, and have now lost Sky One, but dont want to get a satellite dish, ring Virgin media and threaten to leave. They lowered my monthly cost from £36.50 to £24 (TV/phone/broadband). Still gutted Ive lost Sky One, but they said if they do get Sky back they will continue to honour the new price they have given me.

    Thanks for the tip.

Not got either myself, but I reckon this will help alot of people. Recently rang up AOL and asked what they could do and saved myself £8 a month in the space of 2 minutes ...

I'm a bit gutted about Sky One too, but I don't want to change everything over to Sky....not sure what to do at the moment as I'm not sure it's worth paying for cable without the channel we watch most. I might stay with Virgin for telephone and broadband, but go on freeview for tv....except then DS will get upset about losing Jetix.....:o

Stick with Virgin, same thing happened last year with one of the Kids channels and within 3 weeks the channel backed down and come back, identical situation.

There are other ways to watch the Sky One shows, sometimes months before they air on Sky as well, this isn't the place to discuss it but I'll give you a hint, Newsgroups.

Lol, yes, I know what you mean! I will stick with them for a few weeks and see what happens. Hubby has just rung and is very unhappy that he wont be able to drool over Seven of Nine on Voyager any more, so I'm beginning to see the positive side hahaha!

Apparently Sky will be doing the same with Freeview, Sky 1 and associated channels will be taken away from Freeview in the summer.

I think I am gonna stick with Virgin, don't like Sky and would never go back to them, I can live without the one hour a week of Sky 1 that I watch, I will wait for the DVD of 24 to come out.

Seems a shame that people are getting so het up about 4 channels that have gone, there's plenty more out there.
