Can't say I recognise the negative descriptions. Without exception my experiences have been good over the products I've had with them (now on my third) and found their customer service to be first class.0

I think it is worth clarifying that as brokers we were talking about obtaining a mortgage with Accord. There were similar stories from potential clients of Accord.
To be fair, it would appear that in terms of managing clients, once completed the feedback has been positive.
The same thought process remains, if they are hard to deal with, slow and selective at application; many clients will not get to experience the good post completion service...I am a Mortgage Broker

The worst experience I have had was with Accord recently, under no circumstances would I consider using them again.
Constantly requested paperwork, 4 times for the same documents! The process took so long they then had to request more up to date payslips as they were so old by the time they pulled there finger out. Then they changed there lending criteria and said if we didn't pay off my student loan they could not allow the full amount.
We are going with Nationwide now, and after 2 weeks are as far down the line as we were with Accord after 3 months.
This will be the 5th mortgage we have obtained in the last 4 years, mix of residential and buy to let and they have by far been the worst lender of all.0 -
My broker put a request for an AIP with Accord yesterday and we got yes a back in about five hours. That part of the process seemed fine.
However the full application went on this morning, so maybe I will have a different story in a couple of weeks time!
The broker I used said she had previously had a good turn around with them, but I shall reserve judgement until I get the full approval!0 -
Good luck with it, if it's a strait forward case with low LTV and not near you lending limit you may be ok. If you look on there site they have a page stating the scores for there services;Marmaladebramble wrote: »My broker put a request for an AIP with Accord yesterday and we got yes a back in about five hours. But I guess there is no such thing as a good mortgage company
If you maintain a good all round history, credit, employment etc. Have sensible borrowing objectives. Then obtaining a mortgage isn't an issue. Suspect this applies to the majority of people that apply for one.
Difficulties arise when circumstances of some kind impact on what the lender sees. So much of the responsibility lies with the potential borrower. Though many fail to see it that way.0 -

I find those figures VERY hard to believe.
Think writing to brokers just after a case completes is iffy, to get a true representation you need to write to brokers no matter where they are on the application processI am a Mortgage Adviser

Well I know that my case raised a complaint mid process, I doubt many people will raise an official complaint though as they don't want to scupper there chances if it's not going smooth.I find those figures VERY hard to believe.

I recently completed with a mortgage with Accord, and I have no complaints.
Slightly picky in requesting 3 months payslips and 3 months of bank statements, otherwise I didnt have any problems with them, and neither did my IFA or soliciter AFAIK.0
