Address for Halifax ISA Transfer Team (Transfer Out)

Wonder if anyone can help, I want to transfer my ISA from Halifax to Santander but cant seem to find the address to put on the paperwork for Halifax as I can only find an address for transferring funds into Halifax and not out. Are they one and the same or is it a different address for transferring funds out?

Thanks.

I used Halifax, PO Box 548, Leeds LS1 1WU to transfer my ISA to Northern Rock. Transfer was completed in a few days.

I actually rang them about this yesterday.
The man said the sort code and account number were the important items of info (obviously)
He said I could use any Halifax address, Head Office or my local branch

I wonder, btw, why Halifax isn't seeing this exodus to Santander and coming out with a better product to retain funds?

Thanks both of you - I've just rung them and they gave me the PO Box 548 address as well. Will post the form today.

@ Keiran - I also hold my mortgage with Halifax and they have upped my SVR, they are clearly trying to raise margins through higher APRs from debtors and lower interest to savers.

I successfully used the address of a local branch that was on my statements.

On an earlier thread about this, someone said it's irrelevant what you put, because Santander will look up the address themselves anyway.

On the transfer form , it asks for an account number but makes no mention of the sort code. When transferring from the Halifax, will the code be important?

It depends whether you quote a roll number (something like D/nnnnnnnnn) or an account number (just 8 digits). If the latter, you need to quote an account number. Lots of Halifax accounts have both.

That would have been me. It's a waste of time filling in an address, and I don't know why providers bother asking as they will just use their industry database of ISA providers' addresses.

Or if they do use the random address a customer chooses to quote, (typically a local branch, or an admin centre which closed last year, or something like that) it will likely just lead to delays and hassle so there is not much point in that.

Roll numbers were scrapped when Halifax migrated to the system used by Lloyds TSB. AFAIK, the system can't even lookup accounts by roll number any more.

If you call Halifax they will tell you to use this address:

    Halifax
    PO Box 548
    Leeds
    LS1 1WU

Worked fine for me. Can't remember the phone number you're supposed to put on the form but it's an 0845 one.

Also, for both the account number sections you should put your sort code as the first 6 digits, then the account number as the final 8 digits. You'll notice this fits perfectly...

Best that people don't quote their obsolete roll numbers then, eh? I don't have any Halifax savings accounts any more - just current accounts and credit cards - and hadn't noticed the roll numbers dropping off because I haven't received paper statements for years.
