I apologise if this frustrates/upsets anyone that I haven't posted a specific bargain (have just read the thread regarding what to post on this page) but I'm looking for feedback on whether icelolly.com has legitimate bargains and is a trustworthy site, or of it's nothing more than a huge gamble with my money.
I've found a few very appealing late deals to Florida but would like to know if anyone has any experience dealing with the site and the companies advertising on it.
Any response would be greatly appreciated.

I was looking to book a holiday using icelolly everything seems legit. What you do have to look out for is the price that its displaying isn't really the price that you will be paying. The price you see is only the cost for the flight and hotel and nothing more.
For example i was looking for 7 night in Turkey £142pp checked the next day it had went up to £163 fair enough phoned them up to be told that £163 was the previous days price and that now its more like £200. Now you are going to have to add on the cost of baggage £20 for 20Kg (only £16 direct from the airline). The you will have to add on credit debit card charges say an extra £20 and any transfers you may need, another £40.
So that holiday for £163 pp has now turned into more like £250pp and you will have to deal with a pushy salesperson on the phone.
On my own i managed to get a better deal and a possible cheaper price saving £150 just by searching on my own and with a better airline.0 -
I booked with ice lolly late last year to travel in February 2012 for the 1st time, so naturally I was a bit anxious, and because I had not traveled aboard for over 5 years! As I was only travelling for a week, & after reading this forum, I planned only to take hand luggage, which saved me a bit of cash. I paid extra for a bigger room, however, I did object that it was £ per person (inclusive of a young child), which I refused to pay, and told the operater that I just wanted the standard room instead. This person, then waived the child's charge, so I just paid for 2 adults. The operator I booked the holiday with then gave me his direct line, so if I changed my mind re: extra luggage etc, I could spk with him again. As our holiday was approaching, there were a few queries, that I had, which I e-mailed to them, and I got a reply within a couple of days. Everything, they said they would do, they did on time, & everything went smoothly. We had a lovely holiday, and the accommodation (exceeded my expectations) and breakfast was lovely. A tip - before booking the holiday, check the accommodation reviews via trip adviser.0
