Morning all, sunny and warm here today so dog walking was fab, better than yesterday when we got soaked morning and afternoon. Must go and strip bed in a minute and get that on line before sun disappears. Hugs to all who need them glad you had a good holiday Moorhen. Have a good day all.:)

  • Morning Guys!

OH not well, so unable to get to the hospital, but have rearranged and all ok. Nurses have been in already and are coming back at lunch incase OH gets worse. He's been told to wear a face mask when around me so it minimises me catching anything. He slept downstairs last night and hope he feels better soon. Although I've been washed etc, Im back in the bedroom as its more comfy.

Have been sorting through the laptop and deleting emails no longer needed along with our accounts and shifting funds around.

The house needs a little tidy up with OH decorating over the weekend, but its clean which is the main thing. WM & DW have been on and toilets scrubbed :-)

Well I've been lurking for ages but not posting so this time I'm determined to get back on the OS track.... I have been OS just not talking about it :D So Hello to everyone and hugs to all in need....

Well the weekend was spent at the other house as neighbours there have decided to replace their fence with climbers on giving us all of 24 hours notice. Unfortunately most of them have come through the open weave to our side so we've had to be cutting them back whilst they were sat indoors  Now if that had been us we would have asked if we could go onto the other side and cut our own climbers down.......I wouldn't mind but they've also tried to cut my honeysuckle down as well - clearly on my side and NOT going through the fence as it's trained over a frame away from it. They are in no doubt as to how annoyed I was about that although they defensively went "Oh but your husband said we could" - I pointed out I very much doubted that (in fact I know he didn't). I was going to give them some money for a massive white clematis about to flower and bring it up to my house but alas they ignored this and cut it and dug up the root - thinking it was funny they'd done this when I said I was prepared to part with cash for it! I have rescued the crown and my job for today is to try and get some cuttings from it, if it stops raining that is. Due to the nature of the climbers though I have "found" some rooted plants so they are now in my back garden and I've just got to work out where to put them all. Made me laugh when they said the garden gets no sun - the sun rises at the bottom and tracks overhead to the front.... and if it gets no sun quite why the "dreadful garden needs a complete relandscaping" I have no idea.... :rotfl:

We were meant to be having a relaxing weekend as well as the last lot of IVF didn't go so well and I've got an urgent gynae apt this week as they found something they aren't happy with....and they think I've got PCOS as does my new GP which I've been asking to be investigated for for nearly two decades as I have all the symptoms  :(. Apart from that we did very little over the weekend :rotfl:

Simmered up the chicken carcass last night for a nice stewy soup tonight so I'll be making that in a bit. On a good note my typing agency realised they've underpaid me by £150 and I got a free box of cereal yesterday - full size! :j Right, off to strip the beds........
But I'm going to say this once, and once only, Gene. Stay out of Camberwick Green :D

Morning Chums (just) well I had a lovely week-end and yesterday even though it rained for most of the day DD,her OH and three of the boys and I all went out and visited Ightham Moat and Knowle Park and used my NT memebership to get in.
DD and OH took the dogs for a long walk and the boys and I went around the houses.Knowle Park is really good and the boys and I were interested in all the conservation work their doing there. We had a nice picnic (admitidley in the cars) but it still cost us nothing for the day out and the dogs were exhausted after their hike through the woods. So a good day out even if it was raining .Today I am off to the shops for a little bit of essential shopping .I only have 18 days until I go away to Dorset, so I won't be buying much, as I can eat fairly well from the freezer, and its only bread and fresh fruit I need.

As I have been 'fiscal fasting' I seemed to have saved so much as I'm not going near the supermarkets half as much, and I'm eating through the stuff in the cupboards instead.I can't believe how much food is stored in there.
Hope you all have a good day It's sunny here at the moment but rain is forecast (which is badly needed in the south at the moment) All of my washing and ironing is up to date so its only the shops I have to do today, and I will leave that until after lunch as its never a good idea to go shopping if your peckish you seem to spend more .
I think I'm turning into my Mum at times .
have a great day everyone no matter what you get up to, and <<hugs>> if you are in need or feeling poorly

I hate that I can't do things myself anymore :( but that is what I am saddled with, so I just have to make do with being a whip cracking manager :D
    *Nods* Bloody frustrating, isn't it?

Penpin GWS vibes to your OH, and I hope you're not too bad today; stay comfy.;)

Rage good to "see" you;@ stupid neighbours, and at medical bods taking so long to realise you were right all along.

Um.... I wonder if I should perhaps explain a possible reason for liking the smell of damp dog.:D It seems that one of the weirder things lupus has done to me is to screw up my sense of smell. Some things that most people like, I can't abide - baby powder is one such that comes to mind._pale_ I also get "phantom" smells - last night I'd have sworn I could smell tomato soup, really strongly; but we didn't have anything like that anywhere, and hadn't made anything tomatoey during the day.:o I very often think I can smell gas; it was so strong one time that I had the gas people out! Just one of the ways lupus makes my life "interesting", I guess.:o

OS-wise, I made Shepherd Spy for two days' dinners yesterday, as Mr LW has to work late tonight (so we can just nuke'n'eat when he gets home) and I also made cherry pie, which will do several puds. HM bread and Birsay biscuits for his lunchbox were also made.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Afternoon,

RIE - :D Nice to see you again :T, @ problems
    Brmable - :D @ dog

Ok, so far have taken FIL to RBH to see the blood specialist....which then lead onto a blood test we were number 73 and number 30 was being called when we got there, nipped out to move the car, got back and he had gone :o, cue wondering round until i found him :o. Then he needed an x-ray. The top and bottom is he is anaemic (sp?) and has a problem with his bone marrow, so may need injections into the bone marrow (?). They x-rayed his lungs to check for asbestos linked problems. Phew.

Home now, have started the kitchen, side trakce don here, will go back to sweep and mop floor, empty DW, DD2'd friend is coming for a sleepover tonight. Tea is LO pork into a thai curry and pizza and hm wedges for kids.

    Have lovely days xx

    Afternoon all,

Have been to bank and Aldi this morning....bank was mobbed, only 3 cashiers on and everybody must have had complicated dealings, as took more than 30 mins to get through, couldn't use machines as had to lodge cheque for DS2, I wasn't really in a rush but some people in queue were spitting tacks!

Went for a coffee when out and OH bought some fancy sausages, not really enough ham left from yesterday so will have 2 of them for dinner to stretch the ham, with lo cabbage and baked potatoes, followed by rhubarb and custard...looking forward to it although not hungry yet.

Washing blowing nicely on line, have some sweaters to do but will put them on airer upstairs, as they would surely lose shape if I put them out in wind. No ironing to do as nobody is going anywhere important....otherwise nothing gets ironed.

Did a bit of weeding in square foot box on way back from line....Mossy decided I needed help so jumped in....smoothed things out a bit so hopefully tiny lettuce and scallion seedlings will survive.

PP...sorry to hear that you and OH are not well, hope that things improve soon.

LW...know what you mean about smells....I lost sense when I was expecting DD1 in 1970 and its only in the last couple of years that I can bear the smell of orange peel, would feel ill.

Hugs to all in need or want of one, take care and stay safe

    Hi all,

I'm feeling fairly shattered now the whirlwind known as DN8 has gone.We have made a quilt for her big sisters new baby-she was pressing the pedal on the sewing machine and I guided it,bit hair raising at times when she speeded up.I managed to get a panel with a teddy on so just needed to put some backing fleece on,turn it the right way round and then top stitch. She has gone home more than happy thinking she has ' made' a present for baby- it did look nice when finished.

Then she wanted to make some cards like I do,which has involved her raiding my craft boxes, and she has gone home with loads of stuff( I do confess to being a bit of a meanie cos I hid my most expensive backing papers etc when I knew she was coming-there are a lot of pink ones and she'd have had the lot if I'd let her :rotfl:)

Not much OS gone on today then, though I did make sandwiches for us all instead of going to the shop.Minced beef for tea-got leftover roasties too,so will just do some veg to go with it.Need to start doing it soon as DGd coming after tea,and I like to be cleared away ready.

LW- thats interesting about the lupus altering your sense of smell, never knew that. There's worse smells than wet dog anyway :D
Bramble- I can't leave anything out on the side,if I do forget and leave it,it goes :eek:Cos he's such a big dog he can reach right to the back too if he stands on his back legs-tea leaf:rotfl:
PP- hope OH is better soon.

Have a good evening folks xx
