Hi, this is the Daily Threadfor 10th April.). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Got woken up by heavy rain so came down for a cuppa then surprised by DS coming home soaking wet. He spent last week online later and later so we decided to switch off the internet at midnight. His clock is now so out of kilter he couldn't sleep so has been for a walk. He's got a conditional offer for where he really wants to go so needs to do some work, otherwise we have him home for another year. We shall see.

Morning DD & all who follow
It's sunny here this morning, hubbys doing the late shift this week, starting at 2 & finishing at 10. I'll cook a batch of meals that he can take to work & microwave, starting with chicken & mushroom pasta bake.
DD & the DGC are coming over later to feed the ducks, it's free entertainement for them.
Shrug one is finished, shrug 2 is started, I should be able to finish it before I go back to work & then I'll concentrate of preemie clothes for a while.
    Have a good day everyone.
    Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Bright and sunny with a brisk wind here this morning. DH up and off to work stupid early. Washing to go out on the line shortly.

Had lovely roast yesterday, didn't do that much os wise to be honest, but back to work today, will have to see what today brings. Not too bad though as only working today then off again until next Monday - just love this bank hols!

Have a good quantity of LO's from yesterdays roast, so dinner tonight is going to be LO pork, fried mashed potato, pickles etc, salad, coleslaw. I will then roast some chicken pieces tomorrow night and we'll eat the remainder of the yorkshires, roast pots, cauli/broccolli cheese with that, and nothing is going to get wasted. Have some red peppers in the fridge that need using up so am going to try to make a red pepper, tomato and mozzarella slice, have seen a couple of recipes that I'm going to try to adapt - not sure whether it's going to work but will have a go - will use puff pastry rolled into rectangle, then pesto and slice everything else on top and bake in hot oven, obviously will cook peppers a bit before putting them on the tart, will let you know how it turns out.

Have a couple of jobs to do when I get in from work tonight, and they are "must do" jobs so really need to get into gear.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

  • It's a bit windy here but the sun is shining, so it is better than the weather we had yesterday.
Have got wm on, so that will get hung out when it has finished.
Dropping daughters off into town in a little while. They are still in bed at the moment, so am enjoying a cuppa in peace. Hubby is at work.
Dinner tonight is leftover gammon from yesterday.

    Morning everyone,

Been on holiday for a week so haven't been on recently.
We have been skiing! Well the rest of my family have been skiing, I have been snow shoeing, Nordic walking and trekking in the mountains. We were in France near the Italian border and the weather was great and there was loads of snow.
I now have a washing pile that is higher than the mountains and yesterdays rain did not help with the drying!

Hugs to all especially LW and Molly.

    Lou how are you?

    Enjoy the ducks Hester.

FS I love having a peaceful cuppa before everyone gets up.

Went to the supermarket yesterday and spent the rest of the day cooking for the week, it is chicken curry and cheesy peas (mattar paneer) tonight.

    Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Lovely and bright here as well with a good breeze so one load of washing on the line and the sofa covers in at the moment,

DH is at work and the kids are still in bed . I will be glad when they go back to college next week. :j

When they eventually get up, I need them to start some spring cleaning for me, they'll love that :p:rotfl:
I hate that I can't do things myself anymore :( but that is what I am saddled with, so I just have to make do with being a whip cracking manager :D

    Morning all,

Lovely day here today, yesterday it did not stop raining all day, and we are meant to have rain all week, so making the most of the weather, one load on the line and one in the wm.

Need to hooverand clean through down stairs today, I also need to do an online shop, post some ebay parcels off, and go and see my dad.

Roast chicken for dinner with roasties and loads of veg, looking forward to it.

Need to take the dog out later on too, she had two quick walks in the rain yesterday, so will need a longer one today.

    Have good days all xx

    morning!

sunny here but rain forcast. Off to work this afternoon. Am taking a service user shopping for new things for his bedroom which I'm in charge of redecorating. He's having a whole new look plus a new carpet. We're having tea out at the pub too so a nice day hopefully.

OS - washing is on the airer. Have cleaned and mopped kitchen floor. DH is getting a few bits from Aldi later for me.

Bitsy - good luck with your cake making!

Sistercas - hope your carpet looks fab!its lovely to save for somthing then finally get it - well done on saving your £2's:T

Have a great day all x
