Pontins have they got any better?

We are thinking about going to Pontins next weekend and see that they have been doing them up and also putting in new beds but have they really got any better?

have they fitted new beds to all there rooms?

we are going to the North Wales site.

As they are now owned by Brittania Hotels, who have some of the grottiest hotels there are, and a little while ago had two of the dirtiest hotels in the UK according to TripAdvisor, I would think that any improvements would be minimal, I'm sure people would be interested to know what you think.

I was wondering about this when I saw a really cheap offer.

I decided I was not prepared to take the risk of turning up and being put in gross accommodation.

Hi i have just returned from Brean sands Pontins. We stayed in the Club(Highest standard) accommodation, yes they have been refurbished some new furniture, and bathrooms upgraded.and really not that bad.Beds were not made up as expected but all linen and duvet covers were pristine.I spoke to other guests staying in classic accomodation and they were quite happy with the standards. We booked in January through the January sale and paid less than £100 for 4 adults Easter w/end.I wouldnt pay brochure price, so if you can get a good deal i would go for it.Club standard is about the same as Butlins standard accommodation.Hope this helps Only sofa beds were new.

Have booked for this weekend so will let you know what its like when we come back.
  • I went to the Brean Sands site for a daytrip at the start of the year. Despite this being advertised on the website, we were told we could not pay for a day pass as they no longer did them. We were infact escorted from the site by security! The attitude of the staff was very poor as was the follow up to my letter of complaint.

I'm currently at a conference at Butlins and would reccomend it - great site and great facilities and entertainment when not hired out for a conference.

Well we are here at there north wales site and have to say the site is much better then it was.

We were given a free upgrade of room and the room has got new beds and new leather sofa bed and room very clean with brand new floor.

Park seems busy as they have the snooker on as well

Its just a shame it keeps rain but have to say pontins is on its way up.

Glad to hear they have tried to update some accommodation but the damage has been done as far as I am concerned. We went to one a couple of years ago and I would never, ever return to a Pontin's site!
