    Morning all,

Wet and misserable here too, still we need the rain down south, we were off out for the day today, but will have to re think, maybe a film later on.

Dinner tonight will be salmon new pots and peas, dont think I will go mad with any cleaning etc today, it will still be there tomorrow.

Will give the dog a quick walk, but she hates the rain so will only be a quick one.

Lilliet how kind of your neighbour, and where you live sounds lovely xx

Lou, hugs hun, is it worth seeing the Dr ?

    Have good days all xx

Well yesterday we went on an Egg Hunt with Maisie and Georgia, they are like grandchildren to us, they are my daughters friends kids, they loved it, was at Attingham Hall nr Shrewsbury (Nat Trust) we joined a few weeks ago on an offer for 49.00 for 2 of us, we have really enjoyed the walks there (been a few times) Mr Quidco gave us cashback!! We came home to a Woopsie tea, beautiful fish that was half price, we call our cheap night runs to the supermarkets Woopsie runs, my daughter got £16 worth of stuff from asda last week for just 2.00 -really pays you to go!! Today my wife is working so footie and a lazy afternoon in front of tv for me I think, tea maybe Jackets with salad and cous cous.Have a good day everyone

  • Hi Guys!

    Hope you're all keeping well.

Had a relatively quiet weekend in that DD is at her BF's, so just OH & I here. Nurses are in 2-3 times a day atm, so not able to go anywhere really.

Over the weekend OH has been very busy doing odd jobs that needed doing. He's painted the kitchen, painted DD's room, steamed the bathroom/wet room and caught up with the ironing. Ive listed lots on Ebay and all are going well. Also sorted through paperwork and shredded quite a bit, updated bank accounts and updated books for business. Ive also done a meal plan for the next 2 weeks. Have also got rid of a few things at the charity shop.

Today we have spicy lamb couscous for lunch and not sure for dinner yet. Managed to buy 3 of the 1.25kg gammon joints from Ocado which we slow cooked yesterday with half a bottle cider/water/onion and OH sliced for ham. We had some for dinner last night with an egg and HM chips and was delicious. Will freeze the sliced ham in portions as we currently pay about £2.50 a packet for 125g as I'm quite fussy.

Also, not sure if this will help anyone, but at Ocado if you spend £75, there is a £20 off code floating. I topped up on stamps before their prices rise and the Rioja on special at £5 a bottle instead of £9 atm. Saved a fortune and free delivery. I made 3 separate orders and included my meat for 2 weeks along with other bits but overall saved a packet:D

Have 3 hospital appointments this week...joys:(

    Take care.

    PP
    xx

Oh yes Molly is currently snuggled up on my chair drying off nicely. Needless to say my throws smell like a dog bed and will now need to be laundered. Still she is happy x
I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.

It sounds as though everyone had a good Easter.
We are still reeling and trying to ignore the mounds of 'stuff' piled up round the house waiting to be put away.

The Easter chicks went down a bomb at the drop-in. One 6ft + toughie was seen tenderly stroking his and another was nearly in tears as no-one had ever given him anything like it before and he was vowing to keep it for ever!

This morning the bread is on its last proving and the slow-roasted belly pork is just about ready for lunch.

This afternoon we've been invited by some good friends for a 'chill out' time in front of a log fire. Sounds lovely.

Bramble: The definitive book on the Home Front is, "How we used to live", by Norman Longmate.
You could also try "The People's War" and "Voices from the Home Front," both by Felicity Goodall, and "We are at War", by Simon Garfield. Good Luck.

    Afternoon all!
Another load of washing done, the baskets are all briefly empty. Have taken mum to Mr M's, have a double batch of bolognese in SC and have blitzed kitchen, so I can't put it off any longer....off to climb mount ironmore, if you don't hear from me later send the St Bernard with the brandy barrel on his collar in for me!
