Hi, this is the Daily Threadfor 9th April.). This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in,put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Hubby has to unlock the site at work this morning, so we are having a cuppa & some breakfast & then we'll set off. I shall pop into Tesco on the way as I'm out of bananas & they go really well with my HM yogurt.
I have one kitchen cupboard left to sort out & I'll strip the bed, then it will be back to knitting & crochet, DD's shrug should only take about an hour to finish & then I shall start the next one.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Dull, overcast and raining here this morning, everywhere is really soaked so has been raining during the night, looks like this is set in for the day!

Had a lovely day yesterday, went out to meet our friends, found a lovely pub that did Sunday lunch, so had a few drinks and a lunch then spent the afternoon and evening with our friends - so altogether a very pleasant day. Also got another booking for our rally in Scotland.

Today is going to be a chilled day will be pottering about at home, have a lovely piece of pork to roast, so will be doing a full roast today - meat is a large joint so there will be leftovers for another day. Will be doing roast pork, roast pots, mashed pots, carrots, sprouting broccolli, peas and green beans, yorkshires, and gravy. Have just realised that I only have 4 potatoes, won't be enough to feed my tribe, so a trip to farm shop/farm stall is on the cards for this morning, may divert round past SM/shop as we have no wine either, really need wine to go with roast! There's still some trifle left in the fridge so that's dessert sorted. May do some ironing if I can be bothered, but having a serious case of the CBA at the moment need to get myself into gear! Think I need to get some brekkie going and go for a shower - need to get myself moving!

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

    Morning all!

Had such a good day yesterday, morning was spent reading, then Pup and I went with our friends on a 3 hr long walk - gorgeous place, going to have to get there more often! Then we went out for Mexican food, had cocktails good girly chats. It was lovely. One of the girls lives in Cornwall, so we've planned to get down there for the June bank holiday.

So OH has gone to work today, pup is tired out from yesterday's walk - but may drag him out again. He's currently asleep on my pillow. Got 1 final wash todo and we're up todate with clothes washing.

Will strip the bed today, need to make lunches for tomorrow, back to work for me! Been off over a week!

Roast chicken for dinner tonight with crumble to follow

    Have a lovely day all

    Good Morning Everyone!
It's actually raining here today and it was yesterday too! only light rain, but enough to put off the Easter Egg hunt in the garden. Hopefully we can do it later today - or it'll have to be indoors which isn't so good! Very busy day at church yesterday so hoping for a quietish day today! DS, DGD + her Mum are all still here and we've had a lovely time together.
House resembles a bit of a bombsite but realistically it's not going to be much better this week! I have kept up with all the washing at least. Not sure what we're eating today as we didn't have a roast yesterday so no leftovers for today. I'm sure we have plenty in the freezer though!
I hope you all have a good day today!

Morning all, cold and wet here this morning. Jack and I did a very short walk and he's just gone back to bed-lucky dog!!! Thank-you to everyone for your good wishes and hugs yesterday, it was not as hard as I thought , it ended up with 6 out of the 7 of us there and we had a good laugh at all the things Mum had kept and pictures of the grandkids as littlies. We managed to shift quite a bit of stuff to the tip and all went home with bits and bobs. My brother who lived with Mum has done a good job with sorting stuff. We will go up again at Whitsun and move the remainder. Anyway today's plans are to do a bit of tidying, find something for dinner and then do some sewing. Hugs to all who need them, sorry you can't have your picnic JackieO but hope you have fun together anyway. Have a good day all.:)

    Morning all

Dull and drizzly here :( but it's the only real rain we've had all weekend so can't complain!

Very happy as I weighed this morning and I'd lost another 2lbs :j I have no idea how cos this week I have had lunch out 3times, takeaway pizza (twice really cos there were LOs) and a roast dinner! I'm doing WW and I did actually stick to all my points so I'm obviously making the right decisions with what I'm eating. I've been doing it a month now and so far lost 9lbs :D just hope I can stick to it as I have lots more to loose!

Today I am going to do uni work, want to make a start on my final assigment. It's only 2000 words, split over 3 topics, but we've been given very little guidance for the 3rd part so will struggle with that.

OS wise - WM may go on if I am putting the heating on so it can dry. HM soup for lunch, defrosting as we speak. I need to nip out and get some butter/marg plus squash. Think I'll go to the Co-op rather than Tesco so I only buy the bits I need rather than spend more money!

    Have a good day all

Rain in the night and gentle drizzle this morning.
I had a lovely surprise yesterday. I was given an early birthday present from my parents of a greenhouse but was having difficulty finding someone to help me put it together. Was mentioning to a neighbour about it and yesterday afternoon my other neighbour knocked on the door and said 'right, let's get this greenhouse done'! Three hours later and my seedlings are ready to move in.
I am so lucky to live where I do. I live in a country lane with only 20 cottages. We certainly don't 'live in each others' pockets' but I know that I could knock on any of their doors for help at any time.
That's quite something in this day and age. So a trip to Mr. T's for a crate of beer is on the cards today for my lovely neighbour.
Will take the spaniels out after breakfast and have a wander up to the wood. The bluebells should be out by now and it's a real sight to behold - a huge carpet of them. Not many people know about the wood and I often go up there to my 'thinking tree' (a fallen trunk which makes a lovely seat). It feels like I am the only person alive sometimes. The wood is lovely in all weathers - today, the ferns and the mossy undergrowth will smell gorgeous and the rain will be dripping gently off of the leaves. If I'm lucky, I may see the muntjac - but only if the spaniels sit still:rotfl:
Have a good day, whatever the weather and whatever you do...
