So far I have spent £204.28 so have £44.67 left to last until 28th March-need some washing powder & conditioner & milk but should have enough left of everything else to last-may need to top up the fruit towards the end of next week but apart from that have plenty of meals in the freezer!

Gone a bit over budget this week but should only need a chicken, bread and milk next week (and maybe some veg). Hoping to finally end up even ;)

Poohbear59, I have tuna, that is a possibility. What other veggies do you put in yours to go with the tuna?
I use sausages as I really like them and the dish freezes well. I'm only cooking for me so I make several portions and freeze the remainder.

I put in peppers, courgettes, spring onions, sometimes left over vegetables from day before! Nothing gets wasted in this house! I've never put sausage in but will give it a try soon in next months menu plan.

Thanks for that. I have peppers and spring onions in the freezer as I always put them in pasta and rice. Have you ever frozen the tuna risotto? I could just make it a veg one I suppose.
Sausage in risotto is lovely, I'm not sure where I got it from but I think the original recipe said you could use either chorizo or any butchers style sausages. Instead of just a stock mix, use a passata and stock mix. It is lovely. Mmm.

I don't think I have ever frozen risotto, but if you have frozen the sausage risotto successfully I don't see why tuna shouldn't work too. I freeze veggie lasagne made with all types of veg and that works okay. We get great Cumberland sausages from local butcher which will go great in sausage risotto. Wish I hadn't started making the lasagne now!

I've never frozen anything with tuna in it before.
I might give it a try next week, probably about time I did something else apart from sausage risotto!
I could just do a pepper and onion risotto though as those are things I actually have in!
  • hmm I have £74.18 left for 2 weeks. I am going to do a shop tomorrow but it will be cheapie stuff. Ii have about 7 meals in freezer so will get some chicken and chicken drumsticks. So versatile isn't it. I have loads of potatoes and enough veggies and fruit for a week. I need lunch things and snack food although I am going to bake over the weekend . I have made some soup for my lunches and will make bread over the weekend as well. Kids want to have school lunches but it costs soooo much more than packed lunches. Will need to compromise I think and maybe allow them lunches 2 days per week and packed the other 3. Was thinkin earlier on tonight 'to hell with it I am just going to shop tomorrow and hang the consequences'. So glad I came on here tonight as I have changed my mind and am going to update my list and behave myself.:p
