I want to stick to £50 just for this month. I have quite a lot of food in, its just the fresh stuff that I'm going to need this month really.

I spent another £4.44 in Sainsburys today so that is now £36.60 + £4.44 = £41.04. So I now have £8.96 if I want to stay in budget. I'm going to try and find a decent fruit and veg place. I am also going to make sure I check out the staff shop more as the fruit and veg I get from there lasts much longer than the best before date as they are so cautious with the dates which is good for me!

You would love it here. Five miles to nearest food shop and then it is a small co-op. Tesco is 25 miles, M and S 35 miles. And I still manage to spend too much. Need to have food in cupboards in case of unexpected visitors etc. I am always buying things -just in case!

Its the end of my Week 2, Budget was £260 for Food, Washing stuff etc and am up to £226, but am still very hopeful. Have enough Food type Food in freezer/cupboards so should only have to buy fresh stuff.

Also, have bought seeds (not our of budget) and seed potatoes so will be busy at the weekend on our brand new veg patch, fingers crossed.

Argh!! I've spent too much!!! I'm not over budget just yet but extremely close, and not even close to the end of my month. I'm going to have to tighten those purse strings. I did the daft thing of paying by card in the butchers. I'm going to take out in cash whats left, put it in a seperate purse and go from there. Hopefully stop the impulse buying if I know I may not have enough ££. Saying that eating out twice hasn't helped the budget either :o
One day I might be more organised...........

I bought some eggs, tomatoes and onions from M&S yesterday. Cost me £3.30. I don't think it would have been any cheaper in Sainsburys.
    £8.96 - £3.30 = £5.66.
I have £5.66 to last me two weeks! It sounds really little to me but I have loads of food in. The eggs will last me until the end of the month, the onions should as well. The tomatoes will probably last me a week.
A couple of my clementines that I got from Sainsburys were going funny. They were still in date so I took them back. I wouldn't normally bother but I rarely throw out anything these days and fair enough if I've not used something that has gone out of date but they were still in date.
Anyway, they gave me a new pack and also gave me my money back. :j
So can I add that money to my £5.66?:p I'm just kidding.
After reading a couple of threads earlier I want to make a risotto but I haven't got any sausages which is what I normally put in. I could do it without I guess. I have everything I would usually put in it apart from sausages and courgettes but I don't always put courgettes in anyway.

I feel like I am doing better this month as I have only 8 days to go to end of my month but we will be really sick of mutton soon. I am doing a veggie lasagne today. The meal planning really helps. I need someone to do some Aldi shopping for me today though as I am beginning to feel like 'old Mother Hubbard'!

How about tuna in your risotto, I do that sometimes and feed 5 on it! I put loads of veggies in and they all eat it quite happily.

I think I am just about going to scrape through I have £55 left to last me till next Thurs as Fri will be the start of a new month for me (pay day hooray) it has been a struggle sometimes but I am really enjoying it doing a menu plan has really helped, I will do a big shop tonight get my meat for the week from the butchers tomorrow and fruit and veg from the market which will probalbly leave me with around £5 - £6 left to keep me going until then I would never would have believed that I would get my total down to £280 when I was spending nearer £600 until recently dont ask me what it was on I know I used to waste alot of food by not planning and just random shopping.!
