Is there a kitchen designer here?

I'm sure I've seen one. Or can anyone recommend one?

I want to prove to my husband that kitchens now are cleverer than the one we inherited when we bought the house (which is doing my head in) and that the space could be much better utilised.

Any help appreciated.

Best solution is to let him do all the kitchen work/stuff if he's so happy with it.

    :rotfl: Love it!!

Would cost more in cookery lessons than a new kitchen for him to produce anything even vaguely edible!!!

    Hi Mildred,

Yes, I'm a kitchen designer ... but what's the question? Do you have a pic of your existing kitchen?

I'm not allowed to advertise - but a bit of searching will take you to my website with loads of pics and free info.
I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!

Take him to a kitchen showroom and say things like "imagine if we had one of these in our house", "this would look great in our house", etc. :)

Wouldn't work, unfortunately. I'd have to burn the kitchen down before he would go to a kitchen showroom. He's a make do and mend kind of person. (His parents still have their original melamine kitchen, bright orange bathroom suite and tiles, and swirly floral carpets from when they bought the house in 1974.)

I think the kitchen could be designed better than it is currently. There are pockets of unused space or storage that just doesn't work. It's a good sized room but we can't even fit the microwave into it!! I would also like a bigger oven (possibly a range cooker) instead of the built in 1.5 ovens I have now. Just replacing the ovens would require a whole new kitchen. I'd like to find ways to make the kitchen and storage smarter, and more suited to our needs.

I'll try and do some floor and wall plans of what we've got.

I've done designs for one or two (ok, maybe a couple of dozen lol) people on here. Will happily take a look for you when, best thing to do it post some photos of your current layout and I'm sure a few of us will be able to comment... :)
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Sorry if i'm hijacking the thread, but I'm also in need of some one to look at my kitchen and come up with new ideas! It seems to be a very difficult size ( u shaped ) and needs lots of fillers etc to make it work! Anyone fancy seeing what they can come up with? Can send pics and plan :D
