What happened to natural girls?

Maybe miss out is the wrong phrase.
But say for example, you're in a bar.... Most men seem to automaticallynotice the most 'attractive' girls ( the ones covered in make up to make themselves look pretty) So normal girls who choose not to wear lots of make up and dress up are over looked. Maybe just my observations.
Most of the men I associate myself with wouldn't touch those women with a barge pole. Yes they notice them, but not in the positive way. Other guys might gravitate to that look. To each his own.
Who are these "normal" girls? Are the girls who have made themselves up not normal? They might think it's normal to doll up a bit before going out for an evening.0 -
My niece wears a lot of make up - it takes her hours to get ready, literally, and she looks like a painted doll. She is a very pretty girl anyway and would look fine without it, but she is convinced she is ugly. When we went over to my sister's the other day she was in bed, but put her make up on before coming downstairs as she won't be seen without it!0

I suppose the fashion at the moment is for a more 'made-up' look (straightened hair, thick eyeliner, lots of foundation, faux rock-chick haircut and clothes), as opposed to someone wanting their make-up to look more natural.
I don't think it's a very flattering look, but that's just my opinion. Some girls can wear it well.
Re. comparing the way girls look without make-up and with, do you mean will he get a nasty surprise when he gets to see her without all the mascara and make up? :rotfl:
that is exactly what I mean!!

Maybe they will get a nice surprise instead.0

I know what you mean OP.
You have to blame TOWIE & WAGS for this new fashion.
I think it makes girls look like drag queens lol.
Obviously, I accept that this is just my opinion.0 -
Nothing short of illness will stop me wearing make-up. It's not a TOWIE look, but my professional face and I'm certainly not going to work w/o it!Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

VfM....your entitled to wear as much makeup as you want, as is other girls. If it boosts your confidence, then it's great.
The OP was just making an observation & I tend to agree.0 -

I never bother with make-up, i'm always knackered and the notion of swapping 15 minutes in a comfy warm bed for 15 minutes in front of the mirror in our baltic bathroom .....well, it's a non-starter.
That said, i occasionally catch a glimps of meself in a shop window and briefly wonder who on earth is that badly dressed space hopper ! :rotfl:0 -
I don't pile it on, but what I use does make a real difference and I'm always complimented on my looks by other women, even now I'm getting on a bit. The reality is that my skin is a horrible yellowy-grey colour, so a bit of foundation instantly replaces the sallowness with a glow. You know you're in trouble when your own mother tells you that you look like you've emerged from a graveyard w/o it (she kindly did this when I'd stepped off a 24hr flight from Oz!).the_devil_made_me_do_it wrote: »VfM....your entitled to wear as much makeup as you want, as is other girls.
