telewest bargain - better package for cheaper now that its owned by virgin!!!

Hi Guys,

I've only been with Telewest for about 3 months, and I have the starter package, basic tv channels and broadband.

Is it worth me ringing up?

I dont want them to call my bluff!

I have my phone and broadband services with Virgin and have Sky TV. I've been paying £25 for the 4mb broadband speed and the £11 telephone line rental + calls and thought I'd see if I could get a better deal. I mentioned the Sky deal I was thinking of going to and was offered Virgin's current deal giving me the same broadband service of 4mb with line rental and unlimited free landline calls 24/7 for £26 per month, a saving of £10 plus my landline calls per month! I thought I might have to drop the broadband speed to 2mb to get their advertised £20 a month deal but it seems you can mix and match the speeds. Just wish we didn't always have to ring and threaten to leave these places before they give you a better deal, there's no automatic concession for loyality which is a shame. Still, just goes to show, if you don't ask, you don't get!

I think of it more as what Virgin have done to Virgin customers - never once were we asked if we wanted to pay an extra 93p a month to keep the channels...I for one would have paid, and it would save all the hassle of haggling with parents to get sky!

How true - it matters not that a company says that they are standing up to Da Big Bad Bully cos they Love Their Customers Sooooo Much...when what they actually mean is oops we've reduced the service now, so we're paying out less, but hey, we'll charge you the same amount if we can get away with it!!!
