BG and corgi do my head in.
very expensive and not even good service.
had to sort out a boiler ch system last night at a mates house. just had a pump replaced by BG under the cover plan. last monday.

the system was banging and clanking all day, boiler was tripping out, little or no heat.
i went there and sorted it out. turned the cold water feed to the exp tank on! filled the system, bled the rads, and its now working perfectly.

    simply appalling workmanship from BG.
    Get some gorm.

Powergen are also starting boiler cover - They are phasing it in at present its only available in manchester and surrounding area but should be nationwide by end of the year.

It works out to be cheaper then Bgas plus they will also come out on weekends as well and it doesn't cost you any more. It covers Central Heating systems and pipework pretty much exactly the same as you get with Bgas but works out to be about 3-4 quid less a month.

Might not cover you at the moment but is worth considering in the future :)

Hi hsgamboy, I think Npower use Homeserve for their Central heating cover (slightly cheaper than BG) Can you tell me if they use local heating engineers, if so are they full time working for homeserve or do they do other work, ie are they likely to be working on another job when you want them to attend your breakdown. thanks.

Any insurance broker will quote for home emergency cover.
The one I have costs £58 a year, and the guff reads like it covers much more than the boiler.
