Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 7th April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning,
TT - Hope your feeling better today x
DS decided 5.30am was a good enough time to start the day, so here i am .
Today Going to see mum with the kids, DH didn't get pork out of freezer so won't be having that today, prob HM Lamb doners bumped from last night.
Was in bed by 8.30am last night raging headache, but feel much better today.
Hope you all have lovely days xx

Good morning bargainbird and to all who follow,
I'm another up early today. Have been shopping before the rush. All my lot are still in bed so am now enjoying a cuppa.
Tea is out of the freezer, chicken curry. All the single portions i have been freezing has paid off, now enough for all of us. Nice and easy.
Weather doesn't look great. Bit dull.
Don't know what our plans are for today as yet. Hubby did say yesterday about going to get some fence posts so i'll go along for the ride.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning all
Overcast & drizzly here, hubby has to open up at work at 8:30 today, so he'll be about an hour then he can come home 'til 4ish when he'll go back & close up. I'll pop to DD's with Easter eggs for the DGC's I'm also dropping off 4 pts of milk as I have too much & some HM yoghurt for them to try.
My other DD came round yesterday to collect the Easter eggs, a dolls pram, dolls pushchair & 2 dolls for the DFGK, whose faces lit up at the sight of the Easter eggs.
HM ribs for tea with rice.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning everyone
Dull and rainy here and it's looking decidedly worse for Easter Monday. Well it is a bank holiday <rollseyes>
Got to head off to the pet shop and Costco this morning, more washing to get through, lots of fun stuff like that :rotfl:
No idea what I am doing for tea tonight
Sorry not much OS going.
Hugs and spoons all round xxxI have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife Louise BrooksAll will be well in the end. If it's not well, it's not the end.Be humble for you are made of earth. Be noble for you are made of stars0 -
Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Dull, overcast and now intermittent raining here this morning. DH and DS1 up and gone off to work stupid early.
Yesterday DS1 and DS2 went out for the evening with dad, they got back at 10pm - they had a good time. DH and I just chilled at home. Managed to find the torch we thought we'd lost it's a big rechargeable lantern that we use lots when we go away in the caravan, haven't been able to find it for ages, couldn't find anything similiar to replace it with either, pleased now we haven't!
Dinner last night was fish, chips/jacket, beans/veg. Have a few different bits in the freezer so will have something from there for dinner tonight. We're going out to visit friends and have lunch out tomorrow, then i'll cook roast here Monday - must remember tomorrow to get the meat out to defrost. Have the bottom part of a trifle setting in the fridge at the moment - will make the next bit later, hopefully it will be ready for dessert for tonight. Was hoping to do some jobs in the garden - that's now not going to happen as it's raining - have a couple items to iron and then I may do a bit housework and some baking/cooking.
Now having a lovely bowl of hot porridge - eating it whilst posting, one of my bad habits!! Will go and get a shower shortly, then will pop out before it gets busy - need to get some bits for the garden - then if it does brighten up later I'll be sorted to crack on - I may do the bits in the greenhouse anyway.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Looking a bit grey here too, although no rain is forecast.....yet!
No plans for daytime today other than doing uni work, less than 6 weeks to go til I finish (both  and :j at that!). I'm pretty much on top of work, especially if I get lots done today. Tonight my friend is coming over for a takeaway and DVD night
OS wise - got some HM soup out of freezer to have for lunch and got milk out to defrost too. Dishes to wash, little tidy round, laundry to be put away.
Have a fab day all

Morning all!
Miserable day here, OH has gone off to work. I had to go pick him up at 2:30 last night as he was out with friends and missed the last train! So he's like a bear with a sore head. No symapthy from me, he knew he had to work so shouldn't have stayed out so late!!
So he's gone to the farm and I'm planning a day indoors. The house is pretty clean, so just clothes to wash and then I will watch movies, read my kindle and generally just chill out.
No idea what to do for dinner, got plenty in so will see what I fancy later.
Have a lovely day all

Good Morning all, decidedly grey looking at the moment at least its dry I suppose which is something I'm off to london today with my sis-in-law and history group as we are on a field trip tour around the Midland Hotel in St Pancras. Then I may drag her into the British Library as she's not been there before, (a hidden treasure thats well worth a look, and costs nothing)
Hopefully I won't spend too much cash today apart from my train fare on the Hi-Speed to London (I get a reduced ticket with my disabled card so its not too dear.).Not sure what dinner will be tonight possibly some lamb chops from the freezer and new potato's
Hope you all have a great day and the weather brightens up a bit
Cheers chums

Hello all, slept better last night but still coughing like a trooper so another quiet day. Will remember to check off meds today. Like you wet and grey today. We part own a communal bit of land at the back and twice a year have a clear up endingwith a bonfire. I'm official pyromaniac :-) Last weekend was the spring clearup, and the bonfire has been ready to light all week but with this cold i've not felt up to it. So now of course its all wet. Still, i like a challenge :j
Yum, breakast has just arrived - hot x bun. So day's plan is lie-in with cfm hof, bath and book (next montalbano), mr t for eggs, herr l for the rest, housework if i feel strong enough :rotfl: have a good day everyone :beer:MrsSD declutter medals 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐0 -
Morning all,
Grey here too - not sure if rain is forecast but sure looks like it.
Need to get in the garden today really as have lots of little seedlings in trays that need potting on. I've been charged with looking after the classroom seedlings over Easter too - oh, the pressure.
Don't own a tumble drier so emptying the wash bin is a no-no today. Ironing is still sitting looking at me menacingly though:o
Had a lovely pasta bake yesterday for dinner. Defrosted some shredded chicken and sliced ham, stir-fried mushrooms, psb and (LOOK AWAY NOW, MAR) kale, cooked pasta, made a cheese sauce, mixed it all together and popped in oven with grated cheese/breadcrumbs on top. Nom, nom, nom.....
Really need to get some housework done, but RA is flaring up again. I am on a course of steroids and am starting to reduce the daily dose, but may need to up the levels again. Am seeing the specialist next Wed so will ask. The steroids have also brought on diabetes, so that's being investigated as well. I will be rattling with all the meds I'm on soon...
Ooo, hang on - no, it can't be. Yes, it is ..... I've just seen the yellow ball.:j Oh, it's gone again.....:(
Have a good day....
