Parking fines don't get recorded on your credit file??

Hi everyone

Is this true?

Unfortunately I had a few parking tickets following the loss of my dad 2 years ago....it was due to being in solicitor's offices just a few minutes too long and also being preoccupied with everything that happened.....since i was using my dad's car my mum became aware of the first ticket and unknown to me she alled them and explained what happened, a bit naive but they actually wrote the charge off on compassionate grounds. I was really grateful....unfortunatley I still had others. In the midst of sorting out my dad's estate which included his business, etc....I've not dealt with those charges and now I have had a bailiff's letter...

I can pay part of it off to start with but worried that I will get a CCJ.....but then read here that it doesn't go on your credit file....is this really true? I want to pay the fine but it would help if I didn't have to do it all in one go. By the way i've not had monies from my dad's estate in case anyone was wondering why I couldn't use that

Are we talking council or private tickets? The fact that one was waived makes me suspect it's a council one. PPCs don't do this,

However, in general terms, to get a CCJ the case has to go to court, you have to lose (although you can do that by simply not attending) and then you don't have to pay within 28 days.

Council ticket = real, don't ignore it, appeal it to the Council if still in time!

Private ticket ('Parking Charge Notice' instead of Penalty Charge) = a fake PCN; IGNORE IT AND IGNORE LETTERS FROM 'DEBT COLLECTORS'.

Sitting up and paying attention now - as i have had phone calls claiming to be the parking tickets - but I need to check if they are correct....hadn't thought about scams.

I have 8,000 jobs to do today but I will get back to this this evening

If real bailiffs are involved then you already have a CCJ. So you need to answer the questions to establish whether this is actually the case.

If you are getting phone calls about the parking fines they will be scams. The council don't phone. They have no need as they have a legit collection system.

who is asking for payment
where does it tell you to send the money
brief extract of text of letter.

guys i don't have this information to hand, i have piles of paper everywhere and am dealing with everything - overwhelm reigns right now....

I know it's the Marston Group....that's who I paid and I paid over the phone - I'm pretty certain I had letters from them first....if i find it all amidst everything else i'm doing i will post back
