kandco PPI successes?

Has anyone had success in claiming back "Account Cover Plus" from Kandco, formerly Great Universal? I have paid this for many years and never at anytime asked for it. I am going to send a claim letter - although I have no idea how much I have paid over the years. Two questions: Which pro forma letter should I use? Secondly, has anyone had any success in claiming this back from Kandco?

You don't need this information in order to complain. Look for reasons that apply to you here and if any do, send the Ombudsman's Consumer questionnaire:

  • Uhhh just followed advice of post below and ombudman said I have to contact company myself as it is out of their jurisdiction.... grrr simply because the payments started before 2001 and they can only wor from 2001.

Even if FOS does have jurisdiction you have to complain to the firm first.

Oh... well this gives me a little hope, I wasn't too hopeful after ombudsman said that it was too far back for them and that I'd have to go it alone.... did you use the samdringham house chelmsford address by any chance and did you manage to get anything back from account cover plus please..what do you suggest my first letter should contain? ie SAR any info on templates would be greatly accepted.

I used the normal ombudsman form, I sent it to shop direct in liverpool, they wrote back and told me I didn't have account cover, so I gave them photocopies of statements with account cover listed on them and proof I could have paid the entire debt at any time.
    That was it.
