Natwest E-ISA

Hey all,
I logged into my natwest online banking today and saw offer for ISA, so thought I'd use this years allowance with it. Signed up etc, gave me no options to choose amount to fund, said it should take 4-5 days to open. Anyone else got this? seems awful slow, as my barclays one was open instantly last year
I cant even ring them as their accounts department isnt open.

Natwest IT seems broken, I tried to open an E-ISA
We are sorry but the service is temporarily unavailable, please try again later.
If you have any queries please call our technical helpdesk on 0845 605 0789, quoting the error message details below.
Error details:
Error Code: CAO-EXT-1NWB-APPL-1950
Date: 06/04/20120 -
I applied last night, it said the application was complete. Didn't get any confirmation email and when I log in there's no reference to the account or even the application. Maybe it has something to do with it being a Bank holiday weekend?0

Hi everyone.... just wanted to put this one out there, to see if others have experienced the same bizarre communications from Natwest.
Firstly it seems Natwest dont give a monkeys about there existing customers, but welcome in new customers with bonuses and fantastic rates. All existing customers either stay on terrible interest rates and look like idiots, in comparison to the rest of the saving accounts offered by other banks, or take there money and loyalty that many including myself have given to Natwest over the years and find a better rate with a better bank, ie Santander / Halifax / Llloyds etc etc etc.
But the biggest problem i have with Natwest is that they have been promising me that if i deposit £2000 in my e-isa after April 6th 2012, then i will automatically receive the 1% bonus that all new customers are going to enjoy. However there is no details on the website outlining this, and i have been told this morning that its not true and whoever told me that in Natwest have got it wrong. Has anyone else enquired about this and had the same answer?? is it really a load of rubbish, and Natwest really dont want existing savers money any more?? because lets face it if existing customers still remain on ridiculously low interest rates, surely nobody is going to keep there money with them?!!
Look forward to peoples comments on this one.
Many thanks.0 -
Hi sewerpants - your issue is clearly different to what the OP posted. Don't spam up other peoples threads. I do sincerely hope you (and the other person affected) get your offer honoured as it does seem unfair.0

Having phoned Natwest about an application that didn't go through properly, I think the important thing is to have an account number or application reference generated at the end of the online form. When there was an error, like in J J Carter's case, I started over straightaway and completed the form without a problem.
I didn't get a confirmation e-mail but did get an 'isa declaration' through the post, after a week.0 -
I see the E-ISA online application using computerised ID checks has been pulled, it just gathers data now for a pack to be sent in the post, then you post back ID info.0
