The point is where has this extra money gone that you did not know was there, if it was not debt payments as they were only a few £100,s and you had the money anyway what was it.
If it was interest free then you should not have paid them off but put the money to one side in a savings account earning interest.
The error that has compunded the situation was you had an appeal against the dismissal and took actions BEFORE that was resolved.
Did the CAB know you had appealed the dismisal?0 -
Another question,
Was the dismisal related in any way to the ongoing ET claim?
if it was wondering why you did not just add this as an unfare dismisal to that claim.0 -

i am confused.
earlier you stated you had spent quite a considerable amount on clearing the loan and CC
now you claim the CC and loan amounts were only in the hundreds and that you had money in the bank before the erroneous payment
plus it was payday anyway...
with this in mind - where has the "substantial amount" gone?
i fully appreciate you would have been upset at losing your job - but if you were too ill to leave house etc - how did u spend such a large amount of cash?
you say tax credits will think you earned £4k more than you did.
does this mean the over payment was around about £4k?
i agree with a previous poster - be careful with your attitude towards your employer. you will no doubt be feeling invincible after winning them this time...
congrats on getting your job back :A0 -

no the dismissal is unrelated...but has been assessed by TS as retaliatory act by employer. the union were seeking advice re adding the potential unfair dismissal to the original ET but of course i ws reinstated..0

You haven't elaborated on the circumstances of dismissal/reinstatement/further tribunal but if I were you I'd be inclined to wind my neck in a bit with the abuse towards others (and especially the employer).
If not I'd suggest you start saving a fair bit of money in the coming weeks to cover the option of a real dismissal when it happens0 -

Ok. might still be some mileage there to improve the ET case.
I think on the money side you are probably overreacting looks like the £10k buffer on credits sort out that side of things
When you get down to the facts you have had more money than you would have had without the dismisal so it is down to negotiating a repayment plan, with an ET claim in the back ground and a reinstatement from a potential unfare dismisal they should be flexable on a repayment plan.
It will need you to keep calm when you negotiate perhaps get the union to help.
What is not clear is how much of this extra you have actualy spent rather than used to clearing debt. you should not have any financial issue for April you have been paid for it allready.0 -
