I'm a new member of the same club - OH resigned from his job a couple of weeks ago......with nothing to go to......and seems to be hoping that the doorbell will go and someone will be there when he opens the door, offering the perfect job, with the perfect salary, bupa cover, and 8 weeks holiday.....:D
Well, it happens......doesn't it  :rotfl:

Of course, my OH has the time to "help out" at the voluntary work he does........and no, of course that time couldn't be better spent actually trawling the agencies, job centres, newspapers etc, or putting together his CV.....

    :o

That sounds so familiar! It drives me mad that OH does so much unpaid stuff - tonight is a case in point, he is out at a rehearsal for a play for an amateur company - then when I complain about his lack of effort at job hunting, his response is always the same - he hasn't had time!

That sounds like the perfect way to spend a hot and stuffy afternoon

Indeed! And when I got home I had to go straight back out to take DS's stuff to him at his Dad's. Cold I was not!

Suffice to say that I am now sat here in my pyjamas in order to be as cool as possible.

You know ... there were loads of things I was going to do this evening - check my Avon orders ready to put them online tomorrow night, do a few surveys, piggy clicks, perhaps list a few things on Amazon. But I just haven't got the energy!

Instead, very shortly I am going to have a lovely soak in the bath and then have an early night. It will do me the world of good!

    Hi All

I am having one of those days at work today when I just can’t be bothered!

I have read the newsletter which I received today and I have copied and pasted the Camping Hunt thread that was featured (so I can read it offline! ;) ) I am gradually reading my way through it! Oh I want to go camping – sniff!

Unfortunately it doesn’t look like we are going to be able to it – if OH doesn’t get work soon we won’t be able to afford it and if he does then he won’t be able to get the time off. I have got 2 weeks booked off work starting 3 weeks on Friday – doesn’t exactly give us a lot of time.

I think I will have to have a mooch through The Camping and Caravanning Club’s temporary sites for holidays guide to see if I can find anything suitable. The trouble is, whenever I have looked at these before, most of them say ‘own san essential’ which I haven’t got and I don’t know whether I want to go to the expense of buying. The main problem of course is not the cost of the campsite, but the travel expenses – we have no car so would have to hire one. We have been on the train once (for camping I mean!) and it was not a good experience – understatement of the century! Plus, if we don’t book train tickets soon (can’t because don’t know what will be happening job-wise for OH) the cost will be just as much as hiring a car, if not more. I wonder whether just to plan some day trips.

Tonight’s to-do list is as follows:
    • Do Avon order online
    • Do some surveys
    • Review my Amazon listings and perhaps add some more (if I can be bothered!)
I suppose I had better get on with some work now.

    Bye all!!

Last year we did a "holiday from home" and we will be doing similar this year - it is amazing what we found to do.....get over to the "holidays" thread and see if you can get some bogof vouchers for entry into things, or ideas of places to go for next to nothing.

don't be afraid to start a new thread over there - they are very helpful!

Thanks! I will try that later on when I get home.

    Hi All

I am feeling unbelievably tired today – I don’t know why because I wasn’t that late going to bed last night. I am sat here supping a cup of tea in an attempt to wake up a bit!

I managed to get my Avon order done last night – well I had because last night was the deadline! I remembered to all my credits and replacements and I listed all my orders in my notebook. I can’t remember the exact figure, but the total value of my sales was somewhere in the region of £270.

Last night I also worked out how much I had earned on my last order – which I calculated from the earnings listed on the invoice, less the cost of the items with no discount (mainly brochures) and less of the cost of items that I am returning. It came to £60.44 – not bad at all! This has now been added to my sig for the Make £10 a day in July Challenge.

I did a few surveys last night and was just going onto Pigsback when IE crashed! Grrrrr! I was tired by that point so couldn’t be bothered to do any more. This meant I didn’t get on to do Amazon which is what I hoped to do last night.

I was annoyed with OH this morning (so what else is new, you might ask!). He is working at his agency today which meant he had to leave early. I woke him up with a cup of coffee at 6:40am and informed him it was time to get up. I then sat down with my cup of tea and cereal. OH then hogged the bathroom for the next 20 minutes! This meant I couldn’t get in to have a wash myself until 7:00am. Bear in mind that I normally like to leave the house at 7:05am so that I can catch the 7:30am train. I did what I could while OH was in the bathroom, but there was just no way I could get washed, dressed, drugged up (all my medications are in the bathroom), put my hair up (hairbrush is in the bathroom) and be out of the door in 5 minutes. So I had to leave later and catch the slightly later train. Just before I went out I realised that OH had also forgotten about the cat, who was still fast asleep on our bedroom window sill, so I had to go and prise him out of his comfy spot, and put him out with some food and water (normally OH does this before he goes out). So as you can imagine – I wasn’t best pleased!

Nothing much else to update on – well nothing I can think of in my semi-comatose state anyway!

    Bye all!
