Can you send your OH round to my house? I have some boxes to go back in the attic that I asked OH to put away this weekend and he didn't  . Will just have to do it myself!
Hope you don't have to work too hard today and that you get a better night's sleep!
I wasn't actually there at the time but OH just tried to let it wash over him. The trouble is, I doubt anything either of us would have said would make any difference! I am a bad mother anyway because I go out to work - shock horror!
I would try to send OH but unfortunately it is a bit of a rarity for him to actually do something the very day that I ask him to do it!! He does do stuff eventually though!
Got to go out and do Avon deliveries tonight (there's only 9 though so not too bad), take DS's stuff to him at his Dad's and write more Christmas cards but I other than that I shall try not to do too much to day and go to bed early. OH said he would have a good tidy up today so hopefully I won't need to do too much tonight.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
Well I seem to having a fairly good week money-making wise. I have just sold another book through Amazon Marketplace and there is another sale going through once the payment has been confirmed! Woohoo!! All these sales are for quite decent amounts as well.
Also I went out to do my Avon deliveries last night – managed some but not all so I am going back out again. The best news is that when I looked in my Avon purse (I keep a separate one just for Avon) to see how much change I had got, I discovered quite a lot of money from last time that I had forgotten to pay in. Yippee!! I shall be paying that in today.
More good news – pay day tomorrow! The only problem is that it is then a long time until the next one. I shall just have to be extra careful!
I managed to get some Christmas cards written – the ones for people at work. Only neighbours and anyone else I have forgotten to do now. OH still needs to do his though.
Talking of OH, when I got home last night the living room was lovely and tidy and hoovered! Yeah!!! Also he had put the rest of the Christmas decorations up – tinsel round the pictures and mirrors etc. It looked really lovely.
OH hadn’t managed to do the bill payments because the laptop kept playing up – I really must sort out some more memory for it. I might try and tackle that tonight.
My Sainsburys delivery is coming tonight. However, I did not manage to put everything that I wanted to onto the order – I was going to do some final amendments last night but as the laptop has been playing up so badly I couldn’t face it. I got a really good deal on a turkey though – I had ordered a turkey crown but for the same price I managed to get a whole turkey, free range and double the size (it was half the price it should have been). Not that I shall be eating any of it but it has eased my conscience a little to buy the boys a free range turkey!
Last night I also sat down to plan my menu for the little do we are having on Christmas Eve – just drinks and nibbles. Next I need to do a shopping list for everything that I have planned to make. Also need to do the same for Christmas dinner etc. Then hopefully I won’t miss anything. Then I need to draw up a schedule – I plan to make as much as possible for the Christmas Eve Do as early as I can.
Anyway, I think that's all for now!
Bye all!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
I think I forgot to update yesterday. Oops!
Yesterday was pay day. Woohoo! Today is my last day at work before the Christmas holidays. Yippee!!! :j :j :j
Yesterday was a bit of a busy day because I have being trying to get loads of work done before the Christmas break, we had our Secret Santa presentation and a bit of a do yesterday afternoon, then I had to go down to the post office to post another parcel (another book sold through Amazon – hoorah) and then OH and DS came to meet me after work and we went and had a look round the German Market in Birmingham. Yes we did spend some money, no it wasn’t a huge amount and we had a really nice time!
We have just been told that we can go home after lunch! Hooray! So I will probably leave about 1pm. :j :j :j
Christmas here we come!! :xmassign:

Hi All
Well this is the first time I have been on MSE in nearly 2 weeks. It's going to take me a while to catch up!
I have been ill all the time I have been away - chest infection. Everyone else has had a cold and wherever I seem to go people are coughing. Luckily I am not back at work until Monday so I have got chance to recover.
The biggest news from the past couple of weeks is also the saddest. One of our cats, the aforementioned PC1 (Puss Cat 1) had to be put to sleep on Christmas Eve. He had been ill for quite a while, had to stay at the vets for 2 days about 2 weeks before (though he perked up quite well after that) and declined rapidly the weekend before Christmas so we decided it was the kindest thing to do. It was dreadfully sad though, there were 4 of us in tears - myself, OH, DS and the vet! We have been consoling ourselves with the fact that he is no longer suffering and imagining what he is doing in cat heaven - our favourite image is of him surfing, wearing bermuda shorts with a big fish in his mouth.
A lovely thing happened yesterday though - we received a lovely and personal condolence card from the vets. Such a nice thought and very much appreciated.
I think I will update more tomorrow. Bye for now.PigginSkint's debt free diary

Hi All
First day back at work today and I am really enjoying it ………… NOT!
I suppose I ought to do money news first as I haven’t done it for a while:
I had a bit of a panic on Friday when I realised how much was going to go out of my account today and there was not enough to cover it. This is actually a fairly normal state of affairs but then I realised that after transferring what was left in my other account over to my current account there still wasn’t enough. Argghhhhh!! On Saturday morning I woke up early and was expecting to have to scrape some money up from somewhere (remainder of Avon money, loose change, money off OH and perhaps some Christmas money) when I realised that I had the date wrong for when my maintenance would go in – for some reason I thought the 8th was Monday when I was working out my income – so that it would actually go today and so covering the shortfall. Phew! I was late posting my letter to transfer some more money from my ISA into my savings account (the emergency one which is parallel to my current account) so I didn’t think it would go through in time. I have checked my internet banking and it is in there! Phew!
My Quidco cashback that I earned for changing my home insurance has also been paid into my bank account. So I am now £60 better off – it couldn’t have come at a better time I can tell you!
I have also managed to sell quite a few books through Amazon recently so and extra £18ish went into my account last week and another £7ish is about to go in as well. It all helps!
As my emergency funds are starting to take a real battering now – I have transferred £1000 from my ISA into my savings account leaving another £1000 in my ISA – things are starting to get a little tricky. That money will keep us going for a little while but certainly not forever. One of the first priorities is to pay off what I spent on Christmas on the Egg card – not a huge amount but still a sizeable chunk. OH is now being regularly reminded that (a) he needs to get his a**e in gear and actually pay off some of his spending on the Egg card, and (b) the time will come fairly soon when he will seriously have to increase his earnings, one way or another.
I updated my totals and my signature last week and it is not good. Mind you, I still need to repay what I spent on Christmas and the old flexible friend has taken a bit of a battering with vets bills (see previous post).
Oh well, onwards and upwards as they say!

Hi Piggin.
So sorry to hear about PC1. I can't bare to think about anything happening to ours. It's bad enough if we have to leave him at the vets!

Hi All
My goodness – I am sooo tired today! I don’t know what’s wrong with me – probably my body clock is still on holiday time and not used to work time again yet (Get up at 6:30am? That’s the middle of the night!). Plus I think I am still not fully recovered from the nasty chest infection I had over the Christmas holidays – I had to go to the doctors on Christmas Eve and he gave me antibiotics. I am much better now but still feeling quite weak and feeble.
OH and I are still in holiday mood I think because we played Scrabble again last – I was not really on form (really tired so made some daft mistakes) so I’m afraid to say he thrashed me! Oh well, I suppose it is only fair that he wins occasionally!!!
My Avon delivery came this morning so one of tonight’s jobs is to bag that up – it is only a small order this time so it won’t take long. I also need to collect my books back in but I shall have 2 helpers tonight (DS and OH) so that shouldn’t take long. I am not planning to put them out again until Thursday so it means that this evening shouldn’t be too busy so I can hopefully relax, have a long soak in the bath and have an early night.
Not much else to tell really. Bye all!PigginSkint's debt free diary

Thanks Lucy. It was (and still is really) pretty awful but in an odd sort of way we feel relieved. He had been ill for so long and if you had seen him on that last day and how bad he was, it was good that his suffering is now at an end. And as far as he was concerned he just fell asleep and didn't wake up. Also I suppose because he had come back from the brink a few times over the previous 6 months we were sort of prepared, if that makes sense.
Also we do have another cat who of course is now getting lots of fuss (and enjoying it very much, thank you!) so that is a consolation. We still miss PC1 dreadfully of course.PigginSkint's debt free diary
