    Hi All

:( OH phoned me this morning to tell me our poor little cat has arrived back home today - i.e. his ashes. Posted directly to us - quite good service that. We asked for a private cremation (as opposed to a communal one) and we will be scattering him in the same part of the garden that we scattered our other cat's ashes in - they were both very happy playing (and weeing! :D) in the garden. We are imagining them playing and chasing butterflies together in kitty heaven.

  • Thanks Miss Optimistic

Our little cat's ashes have now been scattered in garden in the same spot as we scattered our other cat's ashes (who died on Christmas Eve 3 years ago).

We have decided that we need furry love in our lives - the house is just to empty without it! So we in the process of adopting probably a pair of kittens (or perhaps 3) from the Cats Protection League.

I will keep you all posted.

Money-wise - I am so behind with updating my spreadsheets it is untrue. I don't know when I am going to get chance to do it either!

Anyway, must do some work now.

    Bye all

    Hi All

I am trying my best to get into the habit of daily updating (what's that about good intentions?!), so here is the latest news....

It looks like we are getting a pay rise at work plus a one off extra payment before Christmas. Just waiting for confirmation but I think it is likely to go ahead! Unions have to accept it but the offer is more than the unions were requesting so I think it looks promising. It is not a lot but everything helps! :j

We have heard that Arthur, Merlin and Dennis have yet to find homes - so it looks hopeful that we might have 3 new furry friends joining the family fairly soon! We have got to have a homing visit yet.

I finish for Christmas on 17th December and don't go back until 5th January, so that would be an ideal to time to settle some new cats in at home. Here's hoping!

Right, really must do some work now!

    Bye all!

    Thanks Green

All being well, Arthur and Merlin will be joining our family on Saturday morning. OH's mum is giving us a lift, but if it snows a lot (we have got snow but not very deep and the roads are still reasonably O.K.) she won't drive. In that case I might see if I can get my Dad or my youngest brother to give us a lift instead.

I spoke to Arthur and Merlin's foster mum the other night and she said not to worry if we can't get over there because of the weather as she would still reserve them for us.

Dennis is a bit poorly at the moment so is not ready for rehoming yet, but we are still hopeful we might be able to adopt him in due course.

My WeightWatchers meeting got cancelled last night, which worked in my favour really because it meant I was able to get stuck in to doing my Avon deliveries. I have managed to do nearly all of them now. Tonight all I need to do is put my books out and try to do the 3 deliveries I couldn't do last night.

I don't think I have updated on my WW progress yet - so far, I have lost nearly 20 pounds (I can't be more precise as I didn't get weighted last night) - but still quite a long way to go!

The Ex and I have come to an agreement about Christmas holidays. I break up the same day as DS this time, and DS normally stays with me from the day he breaks up until Christmas Day evening. This year he has said to his Dad that he wants to be picked up on Boxing Day morning instead as that will give him time to play with his presents. I haven't got a problem with that and neither has the Ex (luckily). So I get to spend the whole of Christmas Day with my son - yey!! :j I have suggested that DS comes back on New Year's Day as that way he gets to see both me and his Dad on that day. Luckily the Ex was happy with that too!

OH will have to work over Christmas - he will have to work at least one of the 3 main Christmas days, i.e Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. Our preference is that he should have Christmas Day off so that we can all be together on that day, so that is what he is going to request. He would only have to work the evening shift (17:30-21:30) on the the other 2 days so it is not too bad.

Anyway, must do some work. Bye all!!

    Happy New Year everyone!

Oh dear, I have been shockingly bad and updating my diary this year so hope to do better in 2011!

I am sat here watching the telly with a cat curled up on each sofa - Merlin is next to me and Arthur is on the other sofa. They are such lovely cats and have definitely brought furry happiness back to our house. I can't believe how much they have grown in the month (almost) that they have been here.

I have now been off work for 2 weeks and don't go back until Wednesday - nearly 3 weeks holiday and only 4 days annual leave! And we have had a payrise!:j

Just updating diary, money notebook and spreadsheets (very behind I'm afraid). Since I had to change my browser to Firefox from IE (much better in many ways - not least that it actually works!) Egg Money Manager doesn't work. This means I need to go into each online account directly!

The balance on the Egg card is quite shocking at the moment - creeping up to close on £4K - bad news! (Caused by many things but including quite a large amount in vets bills) However, the LTSB loan will be clear very soon. Also we have had a one off payment in our December pay packets and our payrise will be in our January one, back-dated to August. The early part of the year is quite helpful money-wise in any case -2 months off paying council tax (February and March) and 2 months off paying for my travel pass (April and May). All things together will definitely help in the debt busting!

    Anyway, must get on!

Will update again soon - I promise!

    Hi All

Well I am back at work today - it was a bit of a shock the alarm going off at 6am this morning!

I am plodding on with updating my spreadsheets (still a bit more to do). However, I am feeling a bit more positive about things now. This is because although my total credit card debt has gone up quite a bit (particularly the balance on the Egg card) the overall total non-mortgage debt figure is not looking bad at all. Only at the beginning of August (before we went on holiday) was it lower than it is now, and then not by very much. So I don't think that is bad at all!

    Onwards and upwards!

    Bye all!
