:eek::eek::eek: It appears the early signs are good, though, doesn't it?!

    I'm hoping so Piggin.
He was very busy yesterday, did his bedroom again :D it won't know what's hit it as usually I have to nag and nag before he tidies it!!! He then cut the grass :T
Then he came with me to take dog for a walk.
He's a changed boy at the moment but he's still grumbling about his life being ruined for the next 6 weeks and don't I think I'm cruel for keeping him in that long??? hmmm I don't think it will be that long but am not going to tell him yet!

Oh and his dad very kindly said that I gave him too much freedom  er sorry but considering he hardly sees him is a bit of a cheek!!!!! I was fuming!! how dare he, I couldn't even say he was a part time dad cos that's giving him a compliment!! A father who only bothers every now and again what would you call him??
Your quite lucky with your ex even tho your going to miss your son for next 3 weeks?? It'll soon pass and he'll be back home moaning to you he's bored :D

Yes I know I am quite lucky with the Ex - whatever his failings as a husband (which were plenty!) he is a good Dad ..... mostly!! There is still an issue with him not giving DS any pocket money! I shouldn't be surprised really - it is typical of his control freakish behaviour! It is not like he can't afford it (he earns far more than I do)! I am Mrs Skint of Skint Town but I still give DS some pocket money, O.K. it's not a lot (£2 a week) but the point is that it teaches him the value of money, plus he uses it to buy presents at Christmas and birthdays (though I am quite strict that he only uses it for my side of the family). Last Christmas, I had to let him use a little bit (and it was a very little bit) to buy his Dad a Christmas present because he had no money from his Dad to buy anything.

Sounds promising about your DS - long may it continue!!!

And yes, I am looking forward to seeing DS again and him moaning that he is bored! Mind you, he will have spent 2 weeks in France with his Grandma (and his Dad), so I suspect he will be quite glad to get back! :D Even though he is going to get dragged to the Proms when we go to London!!

    Hi All – me again!

    Today’s countdown:

10 days to go until payday
14 days at work (after today) before I break up for my holiday
20 days to go before DS comes back
21 days to go before I go on holiday

I have just been updating my spreadsheet for the current month, and it is still tight but do-able!! My available balance will experience a big ‘dip’ when I make my Avon payment this week. However, OH is paying money into my account today (and again next Monday), I have an Avon cheque still to pay in (doing that today) and one more Avon delivery to get rid of – will try again today. If I don’t get rid of this delivery I will just have to claim credit for it so I won’t have to pay for it yet.

I am going to London this coming weekend – OH has offered to pay for my ticket this time (good job really as I can’t afford it). Luckily I have still got enough for tube fare and a prommers ticket to go to the Proms on Saturday evening – so looking forward to it! :T

I really need to gather up all my small change (I am sure I have got loads!) and pay that into my account – it all helps!

Luckily my current Avon order (due to place online this week, delivery next week) is looking like it is quite a biggie, so that will help!!

I have just set up my minimum payment to my Amazon Halifax card (O.K. it is not linked to Amazon anymore, but I am going to continue to refer to it like this to distinguish it from the other Halifax card I have got) so I am now discontinuing my Payments a Day to this card for the time being – really need to concentrate on the Egg card. I really want the balance on Egg to be £0 by the end of the month.

I am rather tired today as we had a bit of Dr Who marathon last night because OH has bought the box set for the last series (got it at a good price too!:money:). Tonight OH and I are going to see the new Harry Potter film – first time for OH and second time for me!

Anyway, I suppose I had better get on with some work!

    Bye all!!

    Hi All

Went to see Harry Potter again last night, loved it again but OH didn’t love it quite as much as I did – yah boo sucks to him!!! Our enjoyment was slightly marred by 2 factors (1) having to sit on the very front row (much dizziness at the fast moving bits and cricking of neck) (2) a bunch of cretins close to us on the same row – grrrr!!

OH has gone back to London today, so I am all on my own for the next few days until I go down to see him on Friday – and hopefully going to the Proms on Saturday. Woohoo!!! :j

Tonight I must do Avon order and then have a long soak in the bath and an early night I think – didn’t sleep terribly well last night. It could have been because of OH’s very loud snoring, I couldn’t possibly comment! :D

    Today’s countdown:

9 days to go until payday
13 days at work (after today) before I break up for my holiday
19 days to go before DS comes back
20 days to go before I go on holiday

    Bye all!!

    Hi All

Feeling very tired today (same old, same old!!). Part of the reason for this is that my alarm went off at midnight last night - I had been asleep for about an hour so it was a bit of a shock I can tell you! In a semicomatose state sometime yesterday or the night before, I must have pressed the 'Alarm 2' button on top of my clock radio - of course the default setting on any digital clock or watch is 00:00, ie midnight! I wondered what on earth was going on, thinking 'it can't be time to get up already'!!!!! The cat got all excited as well because he thought it was time to go out to play!! The good news was, that this didn't interfere with my usual alarm (Alarm 1) so it still went off on time this morning!

I am enjoying a night of not having to do anything Avon related! I am doing a wash (need some clothes for London at the weekend) and running a load in the dishwasher.

I have sold another book on Amazon so I need to parcel that up tonight ready to post tomorrow.

I have realised today that there is one payment still to be made this month which I hadn't accounted for - my Camping and Caravanning Club membership fee. This is manageable but I just need to be careful - really having to cut back on the payments a day for the time being.

Blimey, the keyboard on this laptop is driving me mad - some letters don't always work and I am really having to hit the keys hard (not a good thing to do on a laptop!)

    Anyway, today's countdown:

8 days to go until payday
12 days at work before I go on holiday
18 days to go until DS comes back
19 days to go until I go on holiday

    Bye all!!

    Hi All

I have had a busy day today both at work and at home. At work I have been desperately trying to plough my way through all the stuff that needs doing before I go on holiday. At home I have been packing to go to London and trying to get my house (or at least downstairs!) reasonably clean and tidy so I am not embarrassed when my neighbour comes in to feed the cat while I am away!!

Just having a cup of tea then I need to go and try and persuade aforementioned kitty cat to come inside for the night (opening and closing a few cupboard doors should do the trick!), then a quick dip in the bath and then to bed.

I am planning to get up a bit earlier tomorrow morning to do a bit more tidying before I go to work (it could happen!) and then I am planning to leave work an hour early so I can have a bit of time at home before I need to go and catch my train. OH's mum has very kindly offered to give me a lift to the station, which is handy (not least money-wise - I would have had to get a taxi otherwise!)

Anyway, must get on -want to get to bed at a reasonable time tonight!

    Today's countdown:

7 days to go before payday
11 days left at work before I break up for my holiday
17 days to go before DS comes back
18 days to go before I go on holiday

    Bye all!!

    Hi All
I had a lovely weekend in London. Going to the Proms was a fantastic experience and only a fiver!! :money:The queuing system was good – when I got there I was given a raffle ticket for my place number, so that if I needed to answer a call of nature or grab a cup of tea I could go off for a little while and then come back.

I made a friend in the audience – the girl I was stood next to – we chatted about music, Peter Pan and Dr Who and shared sweets etc. The music was fab and it was such a great experience to hear it in that setting. I like Elgar anyway, so that was good. I am not that familiar with Delius, but the piece they performed was beautiful – must go off and discover some more! The highlight was of course Holst’s The Planets, which is one of my absolute favourites anyway – fab-u-lous!!!

I met OH afterwards and we grabbed a quick pint before heading back to his bedsit. Unfortunately our trip back was slightly marred. My IBS decided to kick off and I was in hideous pain while travelling on the tube. I took one of my tablets, which work but take a while to kick in. When we got off the train, we started to walk back up to the flat hoping to flag a taxi down – walking was quite difficult because I was in so much pain. We hadn’t gone far when we saw a taxi coming towards us, so OH flagged it down. The driver started to indicate and to slow down, so we started to walk towards it. Then he didn’t stop – he just carried on going. We can only assume that because I was walking strangely he thought I was drunk – but would it have hurt him to slow down long enough to find out?!! OH was furious and I was actually really upset – not least because I then had to walk all in the way back while in pain!:mad::mad::mad::mad:

I slept an awful lot yesterday! We slept until 10:00am yesterday morning, so we were late leaving so by the time we got to Euston we didn’t have time to have our usual cooked breakfast before I had to leave – I grabbed a sandwich to eat on the train instead. I slept nearly all the way back on the train and when I got home I put a wash on, crashed out on the sofa to watch some telly and promptly slept for another 2 hours!

Work is going to be busy busy busy this week, and I have got an Avon delivery due tomorrow so I shall be very busy with that as well. As a result I don’t know how much opportunity I will get for posting, but I will try!

Anyway, better get on – going home soon!!

    Bye all!

    Hi All

Nightmarishly busy day at work today and the rest of the week is only going to be worse! I have been trying to do as much as possible today in case I get ill - feeling a bit rough today.

Avon delivery came this morning so tonight's job is to bag it all up. Last night I did manage to get all my books ready to go out so that is one less thing to do.

2 days to go until payday
8 days left at work (after today) before I break up for my holiday
12 days to go until DS comes back
13 days to go until I go on holiday

    Better go home now!

    Hi All

Busy day today, dealing with MSc vivas. Feeling very tired so I think I shall have a bath and an early night very soon! Just need to fish out something to wear tomorrow.

The cat scared me to death last night - because I couldn't find him. I wasn't worried when I went to bed, because that is when he usually reappears (he joins me in bed for cuddles). Then I suddenly woke up again at 2:30am and still no sign of him. I just had to find him! I searched all over the house - all his favourite hidey holes and all the other dark and cosy places. I was dreadfully worried in case he had crawled away to die (like our other cat did) - paranoid I know, but there was just no sight or sound of him, normally I can hear him fidgeting or rustling or snoring, but there was no sign of him. I had just finished searching everywhere I could think of and was just searching under the bed (a very favourite place) when he suddenly appeared at the bedroom door, from the top of the stairs. I have never been so glad to see him!
