Has anyone tried making their own milkshakes. I use cheap vanilla ice-cream for that - and all you need is a blender, ice-cream, semi-skimmed milk and some Nesquik powder. The recipe is in the Secret Takeaway book and it's supposed to be like a McDonalds shake.0

Yeah, always make our own milkshake, although i don't think nesquick or any other powder is like McdonaldsSave, save, save, save.0

Waitrose do a lovely strawberry and clotted cream ice-cream (own brand) that's worth trying.
The poorest excuse for ice-cream I'ce ever tried is Swedish Glace. Avoid.0 -
Another vote for Mackies here - Waitrose and Tesco stock it. Very nice with choc buttons or malteasters!Married MSE style (sort of) 9/10/10 :j0

Does anyone know if they still do I think it was called 'Baked Alaska'
it had little white chocolate polar bears in?
Yes, they still do, and It's my favourite. It often sells out in my local Tesco's, when it's on offer, so I have to get it early in the day..0 -
I like this vanilla ice cream, £2.99 for 2lt, very yummy!

£1.69 for 1 litre, down from £1.99, if it's the small blue tubs.0 -

MSE is really bad, I always end up buying things I shouldn't be...., I went to WS this evening (easter-bargain-hunting) and I HAD to get a big tub of this ice cream.
The great thing is that they have changed the recipe, it's now made with CLOTTED CREAM (not just double cream like the picture)! :j
I've never tried Kelly's but this ice cream is fantastic and cheaper, not too light&airy, like some cheapo ones that end up upsetting my tommy because I've eaten too much air...0 -
another vote for Kelly's clotted cream and honeycomb! just bought a tub of clotted cream ice cream from Tesco at half price :-) didn't see the strawberries and cream one though, will have to go back to have another look. thanks to the poster who mentioned that :-)0
