Ice cream- which would you recommend?

I love Ben & Jerrys, and Haagen Dazs, but they are just too expensive for me to buy!

Does anyone have any good (cheap) alternatives to these? If not, what other ice cream would you recommend?

I shop at Tesc0, L!dl and Morris0ns, if that helps?

Thank!

Kelly's is pretty good and often on half-price.

Edit: just checked and £1.99 litre in Tesco at the moment (half-price) for the Cornish clotted cream and Cornish strawberries and cream.

Tesco has Jennie's Ice Cream at £1.25 for 900ml and I think it's nice. Maybe not as good as Kellys but not far off. Vanilla, Strawberry Swirl or Chocolate IIRC.

Tesco has their own version of flavours like cookie dough which are cheaper and also I've heard the chokablok ranges are nice!

I like Carte D'Or vanilla, but will only buy if it's on a 1/2 price or BOGOF offer. The trouble is, if it's in the freezer I eat it like there's no tomorrow!

Waitrose do a lovely strawberry and clotted cream ice-cream (own brand) that's worth trying.

The poorest excuse for ice-cream I'ce ever tried is Swedish Glace. Avoid.

It's a shame they don't do these things in sample pots (grumble, grumble ;)). I'd love to try the Kellys in blackcurrent.

Ben & Jerry's did a delicious Bohemian Raspberry - unfortunately now a graveyard relic.
