Try this ...
COCONUT ICE CREAM
INGREDIENTS
400ml tin of coconut milk
400g tin of condensed milk
METHOD
Open the tins and empty the contents into a shallow dish. Mix thoroughly.
Put the dish in the freezer.
Every hour or so, move the frozen bits from the edge of the dish into the middle. Eventually, it will all be frozen.
TIPS
Depending on the brand of coconut milk and its age, it can separate and the lighter, thicker part float to the top of the can. It looks like dried white emulsion paint! Shaking the can prior to opening should even it out to a creamy thickness. Some brands made in Western countries add thickening agents to prevent the milk from separating inside the can, because this can be misinterpreted as a sign of spoilage by people unfamiliar with coconut milk. It threw me the first time.
Empty the condensed milk tin first and then use the coconut milk to wash it out.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I love Ben & Jerrys too but even when it's half price, it has to be a special occasion for me to spend £2-odd on a teeny-weeny pot of ice cream!!! I like some of the Iceland ice cream, they do a really nice range of flavours and it's only around £1 to £1.50 a tub, and also there is a brand called Jennies that Tesco stock which is lovely. Last time we got it I'm sure it was 2 tubs for £2. The cornish vanilla is heavenly and they also do a range of other yummy flavours.0

Lidl have their Bourbon vanilla half price at the moment. Very yummy. Bit hit and miss for availability but worth keeping an eye out for the luxury flavours.Truth always poses doubts & questions. i quite often have the tesco value icecream i buy for the kids with broken up chocolate or fruit in it.
i buy ben and jerrys when its on offer thoughHave a Bsc Hons open degree from the Open University 2015 :j:D:eek::T0 -
Get a small bag of Maltesers and put it in the freezer, until they are frozen. Take them out and make a small hole in the bag. Hit the bag with a blunt object to break up the Maltesers. Scatter the Malteser fragments over vanilla ice cream.
Freezing the Maltesers makes them brittle. Making the hole in the bag should stop it bursting when you hit it.The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
Looked up carbs of condensed milk for the coconut ice cream - 166 per cup.. if I had just one cupful I wouldn't be able to eat at all for eight days :rotfl:Add 33.4g for 50g of Maltesers and that's an extreme diet.. think I'll stick with two scoops of Kelly's drowned in double cream0

I've only tried two of them when offer but I really liked the tesco 'chokablok' icecreams - though wasn't the flavour mentioned earlier in this thread... I adore the chocolate cherry brownie one, it is very cherryish (in that glac! kind of way!) and is my favourite icecream! The 'stick' double/ triple chocolate ones were very good too - preferred it over Magnum any day!I love food, hate waste and have a penchant for sparkly things ::D

Hmm Ben and Jerrys... anyone tried the new 'core' ice creams? Karamel Sutra is my favourite. It's the exact same sauce they use at the ben and jerrys stands, just not warmed up. I got some for just over £2 the other week. But normal price is £4.99!!

I do miss Ben and Jerry's strawberry cheesecake though, they don't sell it in big tubs, I've only seen it at the cinema in the last year!
I've become an ice cream snob now lol. Only buy the good stuff, but only when it's on offer0 -

I have not seen the value icecream in my Tesco. I just buy the Tesco own brand and what ever cakes are on offer -for example tonight desert as a couple of scoops of vanilla and a 'baking boys' easter cup cake which are currently on offer. Makes a really nice dessert for the kids.0
