The FSCS came into effect for insurance in 2005.
The FOS can only consider complaints against firms that are still trading or still have assets. It will not consider complaints on firms that are not trading and have assets as that the FSCS responsibility.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). If the company was not regulated by the FSA (or took on FSA regulation after a previous regulator) and did not trade after 2005 then you have no-one to complain to.
