Ignoring PPC letters - any consequeces

This could be seen as the same question all over again - but a lengthy read of other threads hasn't completely clarified my query.
The 'usual letter' came through from Parking Eye : photo of the car entering and exiting, with detail of the numberplate. It was in a car park where you have to enter your full numberplate when putting money in the machine. On the photo on the letter it is difficult to see who the driver was.
1) Does the camera they use, likely to have better resolution and could therefore ID the driver?
2) Having entered a registration and put in an amount of money, does that suggest any sort of contract for a length of time?
There are many shouts of "Ignore Them" all over this thread, but very few saying "It really worked for me" and/or "they took me to court, they lost"!
Sorry, if there is the answer on another post, but I cant see what I'm after. Also being deliberately vague in case They are watching

It depends on where they have their cameras but most of them are set up to record the vehicle and its registration number so it is unlikely they will have them set up to get a good photo of who was driving.
With regards to the query about paying for a certain amount of parking are they saying that the driver of the vehicle exceeded their allotted time?
There are plenty of threads where the OP has ignored and after a succession of letters has not heard anymore. My own experience was with my wife at her workplace when Trethowans went after her. We chose to engage them because of my wife's position at the hospital. The signage was poor and made no mention of fines or penalties being levied. After an exchange of letters, the last being sent to them in June 2010 we haven't heard a peep from them."You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Do not ignore a private parking ticket - from 2013 onwards things changed in England/Wales. If yours is Parking Eye then they are suing people and so are some other PPCs.
You must appeal and with current forum advice, you will win at popla - we win 100% of appeals in 2014.
Please click to page one of the forum, get off this old thread. See my signature below for where to click to read current advice. Please read the NEWBIES thread at the top of this very forum.
Did I say STOP reading this ancient thread, NOW??!!

The letter claims that "by either not purchasing a valid pay and display ticket or by remaining at the car park for longer than was made permitted , etcetc" . And there were signs up all over the place.
The car may have stayed a bit longer than planned

You, in theory, legally owe them the cost of the overstay in parking fees.
What you most definitely DON'T owe them, is £60 (or whatever they've hit you with).
Ignore them, and all their silly follow up letters.Je Suis Cecil.0 -

Thanks to ManxRed, CouponMad and others. Ironically I was delayed due to a meeting at a police station when working as an advocate!
I can see that a proportional £1 may be reasonably asked for, but not the £50/80/110 amount on the letter.
Will hang tough and post any new developments

DickyDave, probably the main reason we get little feedback is because with the extortion process stretching over several months most people who have been ignoring hardly notice when they have gone away, or forget to come back. Parking Eye tried one case last year, as Coupon said, they were awarded £15 (which is what the guy admitted he hadn't paid in a pay and display, so no problem with that) but lost well over £4,000 in costs which the judge refused to award them. Ergo, they will not be in any hurry to try again!
And the only reason they were able to bring the case at all was because the guy admitted he was driving.
I have given the finger to over 80 of these fake tickets and nothing has happened about it.
So you are quite safe just ignoring. Don't bother worrying about "if they could do this, if they could do that"... you are dealing with dummies, not with Scotland Yard.0 -
soon as i saw the words,,parking eye, that says it all, whilst every regular on here agrees that we should pay parking fees, the same does not apply to fake fines/unenforceable invoices/loo paper which parking spy/lie/pie send out,, read the stickies on what letters to expect, then relax, glass of wine, feet up, watch tv,plenty of easter eggs, but certainly do not give these scum bags another thought,,nothing can/will be done to you , no matter what they threaten, chill out now and 100% ignore.0

But above all else, make sure that you tell all your friends and relatives about this forum and also, not to pay the scammers.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Ignoring a PPC "fine". Consequences?
Yes, I'm afraid there are. Serious ones.
A bulging wallet or a healthy bank account/credit card balance.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.
