MSE News: Hope for LPG switchers

  • I'm with Calor and have a bulk tank (looks like a submarine in my rather small back garden) and the price has been 55.4p since early 2011, having gone up early this month to 59.4p. I imagine the 49p from Calor mentioned above is an 'introductory offer' and will quickly go up to the new rate. However, the £150 bonus fuel, I guess for new customers only, is quite a draw.

What do other Calor users pay? I am told it can vary by region.

    Keep warm!

Well I ignored calor's letter which implied that I should sign up with them for 2 years, despite the fact that they could still impose increases, so what do I gain? Their latest price (in Kent ) is 59.40 up from 56.40. Thank goodness we put our log burner in but of course log prices are up as well so we can't win !

For chapter and verse (and far more) on Bulk LPG supply, contracts, pricing, wholesale costs etc etc, I can thoroughly recommend the Bulk LPG - Cheapest suppliers / supply route? "sticky" thread on these MSE forums.

I think it is fair to say that it is the most well-informed and up-to-date source of current information on this subject to be found anywhere online.

HELLO NEW TO SITE, I want advice please I currently use 1 47 tank a week £51.50. heating and hot water 2 bottles out side my bedroom window, I am considering having a tank installed down the garden out of sight, how much will this cost to install , fill and maintain cornwall area is this a good idea or should I leave well alone.

    Caz

Post your question on the sticky bulk lpg thread.

There are more views on there and you should get some replies.

I suspect you will be informed to get quotes from the different suppliers though.
