Thank you for giving us the opportunity to consider you for employment at **** *****. We have reviewed your background and qualifications and find that we do not have an appropriate position for you at this time. We appreciate your interest in **** ***** and wish you success in your job search.

Sincerely,

I replied (they have a system online where you can send a reply which I thoought was good) asking since they have turned my application down in less than 2 hours could they give any feedback.

Got a reply really quickly saying this:
Firstly, thanks for your interest in our role.

At this stage we are engaging with junior candidates as this is an entry level position. We anticipate more senior roles in the future and if you wish to apply for those, please keep your eyes on our recruitment page and we'll happily review you again at that stage.

thanks!

I then sent one back saying:
Thanks for the email. Can I not be considered for the role at all? The
advert makes no mention that I can see of it being an entry level role?

Regards

Waiting now on a reply.
Why do people not say it's a junior role and why won't they conside me! I am sick of this !!!!

Rant over.

It's not a minimum wage salary.

OP, if you get this all the time could your cv/feedback/reply be more specific to advise that you currently are looking for a more junior position; citing positive reasons why?

"Can I not be considered at all"

    change to...

"Although I do have considerable experience in the field, I have a strong work ethic and passion for the field and I am more than willing to start in a more junior position and work hard to show my worth".

Surely you can write something like this if you really would go for any job in your field as you previously have advised?

In other words, they're discriminating you because of your age. You can't prove it too because of their tacky choice of words.

they obviously have not considered me as a reply in 1hr 30 mins and a knock back is a 'no thanks we wont consider you as it's a junior role'

In all honesty I am not looking for a junior role, I am looking for a job.

I have never said I have considerable experience to them and wouldn't.

no you can have an entry level job at any age. You just need little experience or none for a junior role.

How old are you by the way? I suspect it is to do with your age. While there's no rule for a junior role, rarely do you see someone 25+ years old working in a junior job...

My age is not on my CV so they have no idea of my age and besides why do people over 25 not do a junior role? If you have no experiece you would probably get a junior role, no?

The advert says nothing about it being an entry level job.
