My age is not on my CV so they have no idea of my age and besides why do people over 25 not do a junior role? If you have no experiece you would probably get a junior role, no?

The advert says nothing about it being an entry level job.

Your list of qualifications and employment history can add up how old you should be, and that's even if you don't list the dates.

It's not stated any where you must be young to apply for a junior role, but seriously, it's a given when in reality you rarely ever see a 'mature' person work in a junior position. It's just how it is with age discrimination.

I'm sure you will have trouble finding an aging person in a junior role for any industry. Some might make excuses like it's just a coincidence... nothing to do with age discrimination lol.

It's not age discrimination, stop winding the OP up. It's a junior level role, the OP has too much experience, and has said she doesn't want a junior role anyway.

I took a junior level role when I was in my 30s because I wanted to change career.

So it's an age thing not a experience thing?

I know you're looking for a job, but in post 8 you said were not looking for a junior role; I was just commenting on that.

Becuase if a role was advertised 'junior' I would not apply as I have 20 years experience. Even my old boss told me about a role he has for a junior and said in honesty if I had applied having never worked for them before he wouldn't have called me in for an interview but there are lots of people on here who think that is all made up and does not exsist.

Then I'm not sure why you're so angry? I appreciate that it wasn't advertised as such, but if you wouldn't want the role anyway, then why did you reply and ask to be considered again? They've told you now that it's a junior role, so you wouldn't want it, surely?

It if was advertised as a junior role I am guessing the salary would be £16k so I'd never apply. This role said competitive so I assumed it was a regular role. If they are paying well, of course I'd want it. You are all missing the point to be honest. It does not read like a junior role.

I have applied for loads of roles that were not even junior and they tell me they are not looking for someone with my experience and I fear this is the end of my life with no job and nothing to look forward to. All I get is 'why are you not working'? Well if I could get a job, any job I would be!

I'm not missing the point at all.

You have 20 years experience, and don't want a junior role.

They advertise a role which doesn't look like a junior one, and so you apply. They turn you down, saying it's a junior role. You're annoyed at spending time making the application - which I *totally* understand - and that's frustrating.

What I don't understand is why - after they've told you it's a junior role (regardless of whether *you* think it is!) - you still ask to be considered! That's what I don't get, and why I questioned it.

So I don't think I'm missing any point. Your perspective might be that the role's not a junior one, but they have deemed your experience too senior for the role...which is a compliment to you, unless perhaps your experience is more junior than you think, of course. *shrug*

they obviously have not considered me as a reply in 1hr 30 mins and a knock back is a 'no thanks we wont consider you as it's a junior role'

In all honesty I am not looking for a junior role, I am looking for a job.

I have never said I have considerable experience to them and wouldn't.

A junior role is a job. It pays more than no job. You say you want any job at all - so change your CV/cover letter depending on the job going. If feedback is provided stating it is a junior role - state what I previously said. It can do no harm and bring a better response than what you currently say.

You seem to be on here a lot posting destructive not constructive threads/comments.

I implore you not to take my reply in an agressive way but in a positive one. You have skills/abilities and state you have a strong willingness to work - so try a different approach.

    Positivity!
