hi could someone point me in the right direction...i have read various threads on this forum and...well is it easier/better to get a claims company to sort the claim,as being proffesional would they get better results???
I am 39 now and have had a loan with royal bank
scotland/halifax since i was 17..gasp.The loan i have now i dont think has ppi as i requested 3 times that they took it of,how far back can i claim?
And how do i get the account numbers,i was told i could just call halifax and ask for all the account no of all my loans since i have been there...as much help as poss would certainly be appreciated.
Also i want to claim my bank charges bank, again been with the same bank for 23 ish years, how far back can i claim,as i was getting charged 50.00- 100.00 a month in charges for 4 years straight...
and does anyone know how to find out if you had ppi on an egg card...
many thanks...

A claims co can not do anymore than you can do and will not get a better result than the one you are entitled to, you gather all the info to put the claim in and if you win redress they take upwards of 25% plus Vat.
Ring Halifax, give them your loan number that you have now and ask them to locate other loans that you have had in the past with PPI, if this PPI was paid back to the loan each month within the monthly payment then this is front loaded PPI and is the most upheld of all PPI reclaims, this was in fact a loan on the loan that you paid back to term end with interest.

they can help you more.
Barclays have taken over Egg cards, if this account is closed then you need to send a Sar to Egg, ask for all info they hold on you, this will cost £10 and give them 40 days to respond.

If you have any statements that show PPI then you need the card number and reasons for mis sell to put a complaint in.

Increasing evidence coming through is that claims companies are more likely to get you less, not more and they are certainly not professional. The use of one-size-fits-all templates which say the same thing on every complaint can damage the complaint.
The banks are now reporting between 1/3 and 1/2 of all complaints on PPI as being fraudulent and most of these are coming from claims companies. The MoJ is now investigating the issue. Also i want to claim my bank charges bank, again been with the same bank for 23 ish years, how far back can i claim,as i was getting charged 50.00- 100.00 a month in charges for 4 years straight...
And what basis would you be using for your attempt seeing that the banks won the court case and since then, reclaiming of bank charges has been limited to first time mistakes, hardship cases/goodwill payments.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). hardship cases still get some success as long as your definition of hardship matches theirs. e.g. debts in arrears, spending limited to essentials (they check your account) etc.
You can never call a hardship decision as you never know how a bank is going to look at it. If you have debit card transactions to take-aways, restaurants, leisure activities or d/ds to Sky/Virgin, mobile phone etc then it works against you.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
