    Thats great!

Just need to wait for the interview now. Even better that the new employer will support you with the NVQ as well!

I'm so glad you rang them again, it just didn't seem right that you would get nothing - I'm sure you can earn fifty-odd thousand per year between you and still get some childcare help.

    Good luck with the interview!

There's no limit on salary for taking part of your salary pre tax and NI for childcare, if your employer offers you the scheme and you're provider is approved.

I'd check again - we were earning £50,000 between us last year and about 35 now we've moved and still get £40 going down £35 a month CTC, if this is what you mean?

IA - well done for chasing it up! That sounds great - hoe you hear from the nursery soon

Right well decision made. Just called tax credits and they're saying because our joint income would be 24k that we wouldn't get ANY help with childcare so we'd be working for a loss each month as we'd go down to £26 a week CTC.. Nightmare. Well at least there's no decision to be made now. I can't afford to go back to work and it's as simple as that.

So looks like we're going to knuckle down and pay off as much as humanly possible before we lose my income altogether come May. I don't get how entitledto.co.uk can tell me I'd have our childcare covered plus more and then the tax credits computer says we wouldn't get squat!

Oh well. We'll just have to soldier on and look at maybe going back to work when Ashli gets her free sessions. Part of me is absolutely gutted though as I was beginning to lok forward to having my independance back and being able to contribute to the family rather that just being a housewife which I was always adimant I'd never become. Gutted.

Anyway, on a brighter note it means we don't have to worry about finding the money for the advance fees and can plow everything into paying off debts before May. Plus Ste will be happy when he passes his test because he'll have full run of the car. lol.

Ah well! Back to concentrating on paying off debts!
Oh no I-A thats a bad show! I'm confused because our joint income is 36K and the CTC/WTC said we would get £117 per week. EIther they've got it completly wrong for you or for me. Its not very good and nobody expects something for nothing, but how do they expect you to go back to work. Being serious now we no longer live in a world women should be seen and not heard where the man is the bread winner and the women feathers the nest. Women can vote now and are expected to work to make ends meet. The government should be more helpful. Hope things pan out for you all. Lenny

I'm really confused now. Some can and some cant. Sounds like inconsistent advice being doled out.
