None of these solutions should cost more than £50 and nasty notes are free! As is parking 'accidentally' across the car or right up against their driver's door.
Have you looked at the other thread I linked, yet? Some good ideas on there.
Yes I have looked at the thread - thanks.
I am liking the sound of the 'very' sticky "no parking" stickers to put on the cars but now it seems that there is a difference of opinion on whether it is legal to put them on the windscreen?
I can't accidently park so as to block them in as they never park forward enough to get in behind them, and if I blocked the access to the alley then I would be parking illegally on the road
There is 'no parking' on the road and that is regularly patrolled by traffic wardens - so I guess the temptation to park somewhere safe (and right besid their place of work) with the knowledge that I can't do anythng about it is just too much!0 -
At the end of the day you might just have to accept the inevitable and put a gate there.0
-
Once a car is parked, the damage has been done, and there is - unfortunately - nothing you can legally do. It's not fair.
Polite notes, fake tickets, reasonably priced tickets, even free release clamps don't make an offending car go away.
The only solution is some form of access control, which stops cars getting where they shouldn't be in the first place. The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
I would put a couple of signs up saying clamping in force, stick a few flyers on the offending cars saying on such and such a date clamping is beginning and there will be a release fee of £50.
You don't have to do it! (well you cant) but it may make them go away.
Had a similar problem once myself when people parked on my entrance road so I could not get artics into my yard. After dropping a forty foot trailer behind their cars and taking an hour or so to move it when they asked they stopped parking there!:D0 -
I don't quite know how to say this. You may have to get a PPC involved.;)I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -
Thank you for all your help. It is as I thought, legally I can't really do much once they park there. So the only real option I have is to stop them parking there in the first place.
I will try the stickers on the windows and will try the signs, but ultimately it is looking like a gate/ bollards are the way to go.
All at my expense to compensate for inconsiderate idiots!!
Today someone was parked there again and I recognised the car. I went straight to the shop and asked them to move it. They said "Sorry but when I got to work I couldn't find anywhere to park". So my alley became fair game!!
I felt like saying "Where do you live because if ever I am in your area and can't park I'll just pop my car in your garage or on your drive". Bet they wouldn't like that eh??0 -

With just the one space involved I doubt any would be interested. No money in it, wouldn't even recoup the cost of putting signs up.
And doubtless the OP would find SHE was the only one who got a ticket when her parking permit "accidentally" fell off the dashboard. :rotfl:0 -
A gate/bollards will also improve your site security, maybe you should talk to your insurance company, improved securoiy = lower premium? From the Plain Language Commission:

Have you got access to a forklift?. If so, move the cars out on to the road and quickly park your own vehicle in their place.
Note:-
3 trolley jacks work just as well as a forklift.Never Knowingly Understood.

Was going to suggest that but thought better of it!Been there and done that, the best part is when they come back to see the car moved.
Many years ago when I was young and foolish we moved and parked a persistent parking Mini Metro up on 3 pallets, gawd knows how they got it off!0
