Removal of gas fire

Hello there!
Just wondering if any of you nice people had any idea how much it was to remove a gas fire? I already know how much it is to tidy up a fireplace and that business, it is just the actual removal of the gas fire and the work around capping/removing the gas supply that I'm interested in. If anybody has had this done and knows a rough price and how much hassle it is I would be eternally grateful for your knowledge!
Cheers in advance!

it depends on the amount of work involved but if it was straight forward i would charge about £60 + vat inc materials & labour.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Hi!
Well to be honest removing a gas fire is actually very easy, I did it myself recently (apart from the capping off part) and it took less than an hour. We had a corgi guy come in and cap it off but he actually did it free of charge as we're using him for other works. It will create a bit of mess for you and you might end up with a bit of damaged plasterwork but nothing major. I wouldn't pay someone more than £50 to do it all, having done it myself and discovering how easy it was.
Hope this helps a little bit - sorry to not be able to give any precise figures.
