Hosepipe ban - anyone's water company actually told them about it?

in Water bills
I have been expecting to get a letter through the door from Anglian Water about the hosepipe ban... But nothing.
I know about it from all the coverage online but what about all those people who don't use the internet much? Word's no doubt getting around among neighbours, but I'm surprised the water company hasn't actually told us about it and sent out their list of what we can/can't do...

Been on the national/local news and papers pretty hard to miss imo0

Notifying everyone by letter will just increase costs...it's had wall to wall coverage in the media. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

What if you do not have a TV, buy papers or use the internet?
Lots of bookworms can still use a hose unaware they are breaking a ban0 -
So that's probably about 1% of the population then...No free lunch, and no free laptop0

I asked an Anglian Water rep this question today (as I'm with them too) and was told that they feel that the coverage in the news and papers was sufficient, then directed me to their website and advised me to read up on there what we can and can't doIn a world where everything is a copy, I remain an original0

i dont use hosepipe but how come my grass is so green in this drought. How come it rained for a week is it the wrong rain, and how come anglian make so much money and pay out big big fat dividends.0

We are with Anglian Water and they didn't notify us, and I agree that not everyone goes on the net or watches the news.
It hasn't bothered us up to now though because it's done nothing but rain here since the ban, and is pouring down as I type.

I'm with Thames Water and they haven't bothered notifying either. They could have easily done so when sending out the bills towards the end of March - there was plenty of the usual "how to save water" info leaflets but no mention of the ban itself.
As an aside, I can't have a meter in my place so I'm on single occupant assessed rates and even then I still pay for more than what I use (had a water meter in my previous place, so I have a fairly good idea) to actually use what I pay for I'd need to water the big pots and throughs on my terrace twice as much as I normally do :rotfl: and obviously the amount of water the plant containers need is the same whether I use a hose, watering can or drip system (which I have and is thankfully allowed by Thames Water). Oh and it's been chucking it down here too since the start of the ban.:pNow free from the incompetence of vodafail0 -

Funny thing. We're with Anglian but when we go to their web site and put in our postcode, turns out there is no hosepipe ban where we live.
They kept that very quiet...
