I'm looking out the window at my 207 with it's long wiper on the right and short one on the left. Both are in the rest position - on the left.

Err, my car is a Peugeot and it sweeps from left to right - not as previously suggested.

    Perhaps they are finally learning.

How are the pedals -- still skewed heavily to the left?

Ah now my mums car(the 207) the longer blade covers the drivers part of the windscreen and the shorter 1 covers the passanger side.

1 of the main reasons why i asked the question was i noticed on this site is the set of blades are both the same size eg 22"

No. Pedals are fine. No skewing in any direction. No linkage visible under the floor covering on the left either.

Your mum's car must be a similar model to ours then? (2011). You're always going to find differences though so it's very difficult to generalise. On that rock do we perish.

It isn't so much arrogance, more complete contempt for the British buyer.

The wiper position is but one example of the European (and especially French) manufacturer practice of spending as little money as humanly possible on the LHD-RHD conversion. This leads to ergonomic nightmares, reliability problems and potential safety issues such as the one highlighted here.

It is the main reason I'd never consider a small French car (the bigger ones seem to have more effort put into the conversion).

You will find that many bmw's are the same with there wipers for rhd.

Indeed. I consider such short-cuts as evidence of poor engineering when it comes to the conversion -- and avoid any such car as a result.
