Same thing has happened to me.....£1.50 on my virgin media bill for a 9 sec call to 09040498233 on 27/02/07....that I have no recollection of making.....It normally takes me longer than this just to pick up the phone and put down again.....I have just received my Virgin/ntl bill, and see that there is a 10 second call to a premium rate line at a cost of £1.50. As there are only two people who use the phone, me and my wife, I know we haven't made the call. How can I discover the owner of the phone number (09040498233) which is designated as a 'fixed fee call'? Naturally, I don't want to call the number. Also, I am not too keen to ring Virgin's rip-off 0845 number at 8.4p a minute. Any advice appreciated.0 -

This is what ICSTIS know about the number (09040498233).
We do not have any specific information about this number at present. However we can tell you the following.
This is classified as a Special Services, open ended time dependent charge or fixed fee up to £1.50 for BT customers number.
It is provided by Opal Telecom Limited.
And costs £1.50pc [in pence or pounds where 'pm' means 'per minute' and 'pc' means 'per call'].
This number has been allocated to the company listed above. This company is unlikely to be the provider of the service but they should be able to help you if you want to find out what type of service it is (such as voting, competition or chat lines).0
