Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 3rd April. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning All
Long time since I started the daily

Morning everyone
Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x
Still raining here started yesterday and hasn't stopped since, everywhere really getting a good soaking, but it's not cold. DH up and off to work early but not stupid early.
Had a bit of an eventful night last night, DS2 had a bath whilst I was cooking the dinner, he had the bath water too hot, got out had a dizzy spell, collapsed and hit his head on the radiator, DS1 was upstairs at the time and bless him, just screamed, I went upstairs 2 at a time, DS1 couldn't hold his eyes open and just kept drifting away, then couldn't bring him round so had to call 999, they sent paramedic, who as always was excellent and did all the normal observations and so I've been up and down all night checking him! He seems much better this morning although his head hurts where he hit it against the radiator. Will be leaving for work earlier this morning as need to take boys to mum and dads as not happy to leave him this morning - just in case.
Dinner was pork chops, mash, LO cauli/brocc cheese, carrots, LO yorkshires and gravy - not the best as it was so late by the time we ate but filled a hole. Tonight's dinner will be chicken pieces as I got them out to defrost when I got home from work.
Work wasn't as busy yesterday, but steady and today will go either way - either really busy because people can't do outdoors things or dead as people don't want to come out in the rain. Only working until lunchtime though, then off until Tuesday - working all day then have Weds morning off, then not back until following Monday - nice break.
Have quite a list of jobs to do so want to try to get those done over the days I'm not working - will see how it goes.
Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Morning all
Not raining here yet today, so there is washing on the line, hubby's had breakfast & been dropped at work, fish have been fed, tea tonight is sausage, egg & HM wedges with piripiri chip sprinkle on them.
I cleaned the cooker yesterday & did some of the ironing. I also went to a charity fundraising event & bought 2 cross stitch kits for a friend as they were only £1 each & are about 8x6 inches, one of them has no intructions but the aida & threads will be useful.
I shall sew up some of the preemie knitting I've done today I have 3 bodywarmers, a shawl & a hat & I want to make some angel pockets too, for the babies that don't make it. I'll maybe start on a shrug for my DD using a yarn called Poem.
Have a good day eveyone.
Hugs Hester

Morning All,
Sunny here in Hastings. rained in the night though. I've covered up the outside tomatoes and cucumbers with plastic bags in case of frost, but we don't often get them here.:T
:bdaycake: Uolypool Have a great day!
Having DGD today as Mum and Dad are working. She starts Nursery soon though, won't have her as much.:(
Lost 3lbs this week. Blood pressure is going down too!:T
Cat made me mad this morning. He has started to poo in the Hall again:eek: He has a tray and a cat flap, so there is no rhyme or reason why he is doing it. Anyone suggest a solution?
Not sure what to have for dinner, Simnel cake to marzipan today too.
Anyway, hope you all have a good day,I Believe in saving money!!!:T
A Bargain is only a bargain if you need it!0 -
Good morning everyone,
nmlc, hope your sons head feels better soon. How frightening for you all.
uolypool, have a great birthday :bdaycake:. I hope you enjoy your day.
Butterflybrain, i hope you get what you want with your birthday money.
Just light rain here now, it had been throwing down ever since last night.
Daughter has been discharged from the dermatology clinic now, so that is good. All of the gaps she had on her head are all filled in with her hair now. Dr said she is more likely to have another hair loss episode than not. Will cross that bridge if and when it comes to it.
General housework today. Will get the wm on soon and it will have to go on the airer.
Pork loin chops for tea. Am in two minds whether to do them with veg and gravy or jacket potatoes and salad.
Hope everyone has a good day and hugs to those who need them.

Morning :hello:
Happy Birthday Uolypool :bdaycake:
A neighbour called the police at the time, my son's injuries were noted in great detail so that'll be used in court.
Miss tru went out with her friend yesterday, came home at midnight. She crashed around on the landing, made it to her room where she fell over her bin then told herself to 'shush' while she was closing her door :rotfl: I came down this morning to find a plate broken in two pieces with a note on one piece saying "I'm so sorry, it was an accident
Sorry sorry sorry again xx". lol
It's really cold here, I've put the heating on.
I'll be making more cards over the next few days (if I can get over my can't-be-botheredness, lol), a sheltered housing place near me has asked for some.
I have a very lonely guinea pig  We lost Lily a few weeks ago, she was 6. Molly is the same age, I'd like to put her in with the boys but she'd have to be spayed first and I don't think she'd survive the anaesthetic. I can't get another female to keep her company because when she dies, I'll be left with a lonely one again. Lots of cuddles from me will have to do.Bulletproof0 -
Morning all:j
nmlc - -ouch! Hope DS is feeling better this morning
hester - I love the word 'angel pockets' even though they will be used for a sad occasion.
Sun is out here and the ground had a good soaking overnight. My makeshift water butt (bucket with the open drainpipe in it:o) sort of did the job although it was balanced precariously on some bricks so has tipped a little bit in the night and listing somewhat. I am waiting for Argos to email me when their space-saving butts are back in stock.
I have an exciting job to do today. I was given an early
(50th:eek:) birthday present at the weekend - a greenhouse. It says 'easy to assemble' so watch this space!!!
If the weather holds, we may BBQ this evening. I have some chicken defrosting and lots of salad to use up. The fridge is looking rather empty and it's only Wednesday:eek: I've just started using the 'envelope' system for budgetting and it's working brilliantly. I can 'see' my money and once it's gone, it's gone. I was a bit worried having so much cash in the house (well, at the beginning of the month anyway:D) but decided to hide the envelopes inside an empty weetabix packet in the larder. If you were a burglar, would you look in the pantry?

A poorly Tappers here. Came down with a bug yesterday and have felt like cr*p. This is most annoying as it is my one day off today and I'm ill:mad:plus I was supposed to be going out to lunch with Mum and sister.
So not much OS will be happening here. I'm tucked up on the sofa under a blanket with my wheat bag.
Have hung a load of washing on the airer and thats it for today.
Happy Birthday Uolypool:beer:
