Lookers Vauxhall Dealer - Wrong Spec Car Delivered

Hi, Just received delivery of used demonstration car after viewing online. Paid £200 deposit (Monday 26 March 2012) and the rest on two separate credit cards before the delivery date (Friday 30 March 2012). Never went to dealership to inspect as too far but the problem is that the car description is wrong to what has been delivered;
Mainly;
1.No Cruise control
2.No Trip Computer (tells you miles remaining etc from your tank)
3.No Bluetooth connectivity for mobile phone
Not Very Important;
4.Mileage is 4,000 less than description, but they called me and told me that.
5.Not Black door handles - Car is silver and silver handles are fine by me. On photo they are also silver ;-)
The photo of the car looks the same (ie reg plate) but the description is better than the one I received.
I`ve informed them that problems are items 1,2 & 3 that are most important to me. They have emailed back to say that the email has been forwarded to their manager but no reply.
I do have a copy of the advertised car from their site and also copy of the summary specifications sheet from the lookers.co.uk website
Where do I stand? I don't want to delay it too long in case I lose out after any time limits.

I would also go to the Vauxhall website and get the detailed specification of the vehicle from there. Have they delivered a totally different model to what they advertised?"You should know not to believe everything in media & polls by now !"

Get your evidence before they remove it forever......
Did the description give the model type and does it match the car? (SRI, GSI, VXR, etc etc etc) Check the ad to see what they say the car was, and then check with http://ownvehicle.askmid.com/, which will tell you what model the car is registered as.
Are the wheels as expected? (a lower spec car may have different wheels)
What's the deal with the door handles? They're silver on the car and silver in the advert, what's the issue? (usually the bog basic versions have unpainted door handles)“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Are you covered by Distance selling regulation so can reject the car within 7 days.
google........................
Looks like it if you paid in full and they delivered you are covered.0 -

Its the same make/model but features are different. I`ve downloaded the spec from their website before they took it down along with the pdf brochure..0 -
Hi,
Its the correct make/model as describedStrider590 wrote: »Did the description give the model type and does it match the car? Door handles i`m not fussed about but were described as Black... more about the missing Cruise control, Bluetooth stereo system, Trip Computer etcStrider590 wrote: »What's the deal with the door handles? Colour-matched door handles usually means a higher model (basic ones have black plastic door handles).
What make/model is it? Does that model come with cruise control, trip computer etc as standard?
Basically - does your car match the description for the model in the Vauxhall brochure?
Next step is to decide what you want. Do you want a partial refund because it's lower spec than expected (i.e. a discount), or do you want a refund because you want to buy a different car that has these features...0 -

Not had a car with none colour coded handles since 1988. Avenue uIe base model Vectra I had had cruise control.0 -
The first two omissions highlight things that are expensive to retrofit, probably indicate it is an older build date (never mind its reg.) and when you try and trade it down the line, knowledgeable people will probably query why the car isn't up to spec.0

Vauxhall Meriva 1.4i Active 2011, I didnt check other models too closely but if it states cruise control, bluetooth system, trip computer.. You would expect the car to have it.pinkteapot wrote: »Basically - does your car match the description for the model in the Vauxhall brochure?pinkteapot wrote: »Next step is to decide what you want. I can do either partial refund or return the vehicle. I`ve sent the Liverpool Vauxhall another email today and also faxed them that I need a reply as soon as possible. I sent them copy brochure and website description which i saved before they deleted it from the lookers website. Have since received a call to acknowledge the fax and they will contact me after investigating tomorrow.0 -
Have never purchased a new car before, always been a used car privately. Does anyone know if the Vauxhall Meriva 2011 comes with a spare tyre? Its missing from the boot area and when I queried it with Vauxhall dealership, the salesperson told me it doesnt come with one. I bought the demonstrator car from a Vauxhall dealer, they did an interim service, gave me 3 years warranty but i`m not sure about spare tyre? Do people purchase spare tyres separately? Thanks in advance0
