May I remind you of the closing sentence of your OP...
"Any advice kindly appreciated."
I've given you lots of advice, but it seems to have fallen on deaf ears! For the record I don't work for the FOS, but I have used them on several occasions when I haven't managed to get complaints resolved with the institutions directly.
You can say what you like about this constant referencing to the FOS, but they're your best source of advice on any likely compensation.
So, what did the FOS say when you called them today?0 -

I have asked y'all what experience your talking from, and you failed to say, so sitting on here saying "so and so is so knowledgeable" is bloody worthless to me. Actually keep this post open, and when I get a reply from hsbc regarding a settlement I willscan it on here for you that will shut you up.
Not particularly. Many of us also regularly use photoshop
You'll be lucky to get a couple of hundred quid - and thats if you really push it.
£10,000+? - not a snow ball's. lol.
There really is only one person that is going to shut up when that final offer comes in....0 -

In September 2010 hsbc wrote to me saying if I paid 75% of my loan off the remaining 25% would be covered by them. That £216 was the 25% they should have covered.
If you didn't meet your contractual obligations in full. Then in legalese it's technically a default. A failure to settle. So the lender has every right to warn other lenders or credit offering institutions of this fact.
Your credit record is factually correct.0 -
OP you wanted someone to respond who has experience - that's me. I used to be the guy who responded to complaints like yours before they were escalated to the FOS - OK ? That means I have LOTS OF EXPERIENCE.
I would maybe have sent you flowers to recognise the fact that you have been SLIGHTLY INCOVENIENCED, possibly £100 tops. In fact if you had been as aggressive with me as you have been on this post I would have told you (politely) to sod off and let the FOS deal with it as you most likely would get sod all.
You are truly living in a paralell universe if you think you deserve a five figure sum.0 -

Sounds good, I go the extra miles for customers like himDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0
