Oooh new thread! Thanks for keeping it going. Posted this on the last thread so will repost here...

Hi all, haven't been around much (long story but had some health problems with DS, in part due to our budget and his diet so I was a bit ashamed and the weekly budget has increased again to reflect more meat, wholewheat stuff etc) but here is our latest total: #084 £5645 paid of £58000.

Not as much as I would have hoped but everything is now at 0% except one card at 2.9% and one at 6.9%, both for the life of the balance. I did a snowball last night and we should be debt free by feb 2014 according to that but I'm still hoping for Xmas 2012!! Snowballing like CRAZY! Next month we can overpay by about £3k and the same in May so that already brings us down a lot and closer to the goal.

    Keep it up everyone!

My OH has just dropped the "how do you feel about living in Canada for a year" bombshell on me

Ahh personally I wouldnt want to drop everything and go to Canada (Australia . . . maybe ) but my sister did 6 months out there while doing her medical training, and fell in love with the place, got married there and is now talking about chucking her medical licence in to move there . Maybe a holiday out there before you completely dismiss it?

Just had an argument with Next on the phone to change the address on my account. She was going to shut my account and open a new one "Because we'll need to do a new credit check on you" she quickly changed her tune when I said I don't want credit thanks and I'll take my business elsewhere. Amazingly my account is now credit/debit card only and set to my actual address and not the parents.

Now I'm still in 2 minds about if I want to pay them £80 for a rug! It's pretty enough but I don't like that price, really need one for under the coffee table though as it's currently sat on a towel. Will have to show OH it tonight and see what he thinks.

Plan of action for A*da tonight, shopping list written. OH is at work tomorrow so I'll bung something in the slow cooker to make whilst I tidy the spare room for our friend coming on Saturday. :D It feels good to be organised, we're off to my parents for dinner on Sunday too, yay free food :rotfl:

sorry for all my updates Jemma, I'm just getting overexcited and paying loads to my cu loan, i'm emptying my pots as i can refill them at the end of the month when i get my share money. i've paid about 10 payments to my loan in the last couple of days, wonder how annoyed they are going to be with me when they come to updating their accounts?! :D:o

ETA:interview went ok, was very quick. shift pattern and pay is not what i thought, but then with experience i could maybe either move on to a different company or get a pay increase at same place. i will hear after the weekend, and if successful i need to go in and meet the MD as he likes to know who they are taking on board. fingers crossed.

canucksfan - if I come to visit Canada you're more than welcome to be my tour guide :) I'm not moving over there though, nope, nope, nope! I'm in the process of putting together a document for the OH, a kind of business plan, of what employers expect for the job role he wants to go into, and how he can get to that level. I wonder what he'll think of it when it's done haha!

beccie - lovely to hear from you, you're doing amazingly well you've paid off over £20k in two years that's amAzing!!!

SpagBol - hope your DS is feeling better. It's amazing what a difference snowballing can make, even just £1 a day on debt instead of cake makes a difference :)

jakes-mum - I don't want to drop everything either. He's coming at it from the point of view that he'll be unemployable when he finishes uni....what was the point in going in the first place then? men!

    - your on your way to the finishing line now with less than £2k to go :)

fallenwiccan - have you been to the N3xt in Royal Quays Outlet Centre to have a look for discount rugs there? It'll be end of line/clearance but will be a lot cheaper than the £80 one you're currently looking at. I've no idea how far that is from you though, but goggle says it's also in Newcastle :)

Brokenpromiseland - I know how you feel, I've been totally feeling the post january blues recently, it's just one thing after another isn't it :( hope things pick up for you soon and congrats on paying off more of your debt

    - glad the interview went ok :) fingers crossed for you. Although I thought you had to leave the current job because of your ears? Is that not still a factor with this new one? I like making small payments to the c/c, I figure it costs them more to process the transaction than they're getting from me wohahaha

No real update from me, I'll pay my £1 shortly. I did plant lots of little seeds two days ago which have started to germinate. Only thing is, I forgot to label them, so I'm clueless as to what I've actually got growing where hahahaha

No it's ground based :) The cu I feel bad about as it's just a small credit union, not a big nasty bank! :p
