logging on to internet banking how many times a day?

I was expecting money to be paid into my bank account sometime today and when it appeared I had to go out and post something so I logged into my bank and left it logged on.
A few minutes later I was automatically logged out so I logged on again.
I repeated this a couple of times an hour for 4 hours until the money appeared in my account then went and posted the item.
Then I thought, is someone watching how many times a day I am logging on to my bank account and will it flag up as suspicious because I was logging on twice an hour for 4 hours.
Now I am almost afraid to try and log on again today in case someone or some computer thinks that someone is accessing my bank account fraudulently.
So does it matter how many times you log onto your bank account in a day?

Hi j2011
I am sure someone knowledgeable will be able to give you a categoric answer but in my experience I don't think it's likely that logging into your bank's online service repeatedly in a short space of time would be seen as suspicious. Otherwise I think I'd be in serious trouble by now :rotfl:!
Looking at it logically. Presumably you are entering the correct login details every time? And, presumably you are not transacting - just viewing your balance? Whilst the banks do keep a record of you logging in I believe, I don't think their systems would flag anything up as unusual if you were logging in correctly each time.

I know lloyds tsb have a full audit trail of everything you click on in internet banking. I know this as something did not work as expected and was put through to their tech area re a faster payment I sent not arriving after being sent.
They knew more than me on what I was clicking on and when, so much so it was kind of spooky.0 -
No issues whatsoever.
I know my bank (and I assume others) monitor usage of internet/phone/mobile banking etc, to see how much each avenue is being used, but even heavy usage will not have any adverse effect at all.

If the OP went out to post something and left their computer logged on then the bank website simply timed out.
If you do nothing, not even move the mouse, for more than about 6 minutes the bank ends the session.

Assuming you are logging in from the same internet connection all the time then it will be fine. I have done it many times when expecting an instant transfer and it not happening when promised.
If you were constantly switching your IP (eg using a random proxy server) then it may trigger security issues because by normal activity you should be logging in from a UK computer one minute, an Indian one the next and a Russian one a few minutes later etc.0 -
As others have said it is possible that they are logging everything you do with your account, including where you click, what IP you're logging in from, what browser you're using and also for things like phone banking what number you call from and what times you normally call. But nobody can tell you for sure if they are using it in their fraud systems as it's a secret that the banks won't tell anyone.0
