T-Mobile business 1-plan with a single user?

Interesting experience with T-Mobile yesterday...

I've started a small (well, one-man) IT consultancy a few months back and I'm getting fed up with using my personal mobile for business, mainly because the reception at several client sites is atrocious.

T-Mobile's business 1-plan offers pretty much what I need, with International class to the likely suspects included but relatively cheap roaming. So I went to the local T-Mobile store who were happy to sign me up, or so they thought.

After having accepted, then rejected, the accepted again and finally referred my Ltd Co's application with me standing the the shop for about an hour, I am finally told that I have to have a minimum of two phones on that contract. At this point, I decided it was a good time to leave the shop...

Their website makes absolutely no mention of this (in fact, they're happy to quote for a single phone) and neither did any of the shop assistants know about this "feature".

So, the question is - does anybody here have a contract with a single phone on this plan?

Given the roaming costs on my current network (Three) and the fact that the cheapish international option on Vodafone doesn't work for the US, I'll probably try to get this phone again but it would be good to know if someone else has got any experience with them.

... and to answer my own question, yes, you'll have to take two phones. But according to the lady on the phone, you don't have to use both.

Yes, the second phone will push up the cost of the contract but for me it still works out cheaper than having to pay international call rates on my other mobile. Not to mention the fact that the roaming charges are about half of what '3" wants.

T Mobile business contracts are terrible. Per minute (instead of per second) billing ramps the cost up a lot more than you would guess, reception (especially 3g reception which I find is important for business use for on the move emails & internet) is poor, backed up by abysmal support.
