- You can split up previous year's allowances
- Flexclusive is instant access so you can break it up
- Most accounts offering instant access allowing transfers in will allow further transfers later.
On April 5 2013 I will be looking what the best instant access account on the market allowing transfers in is. I will then transfer £1 from my 2012/2013 allowance into it. I will then fill the Flexclusive with my 2013/2014 allowance. Come November when the rate expires I transfer to it from the Flexclusive.
Best buys available in April are usually a whole lot better than in November when it comes to ISAs!
Sounds like a tremendous idea!!
I guess you're going to be searching a little before the 5th April though? Also would you be looking at the fixed rate ones only and ones that not only accept transfers but accept transfers 7 months later.
Do many of these exist? (Genuine question - not criticising your thought process!!).0 -

Only one of this ilk I have seen so far is the Lloyds 2-year ISA (which hasn't been tops in the rates for a while). All other fixed term ones usually close for deposits within a fortnight or so from opening.0 -

From time to time Kent Reliance has offered fixed rate/fixed term ISAs that you can add to at any time up to maturity.Free the dunston one next time too.0 -
Tempted to just transfer it all right back in again, but it's with the Ombudsman now so I will await their findings.http://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/faq/answers/complaints_a6.html
Hopefully it will be more like a few weeks rather than a few months, given this is a pretty clear cut case.
Nothing from Hooloovoo since 11 December. Perhaps its not such a clear cut case after all0 -

Good spot - so that's a 2.2%. Guess I'll be looking for an account of this type with a better rate than this.
From Lloyds 'Accounts features':
Unlike some other banks, we allow you to pay in further deposits throughout the two year term subject to the cash ISA limits for each tax year.
Further question for you please. I've seen that helpful people on here keep threads updated for best buys - but is there a specific one for this scenario? I havent spotted one.
Thanks, so far, for your help0 -

Kazza's sticky thread at the top of this (the ISAs & Tax Free Savings) page is the one kept up to date. There isn't one specially for this, or any other version of cash ISA.
You could start your own
PS might not be too long before the LTSB 2 year fix becomes a 'best buy'
Nothing to stop them lowering the rate again for new customers though!0 -

Still waiting .... I had the usual "twelve weeks" reply. Can't remember off the top of my head what the letter was dated. I'll have to check tonight when I am due a reply.
Thanks Hooloovoo.
My fairly small transfer, taking balance above this year's allowance, is sitting there undisturbed so far0 -
... as is my fairly large transfer.0
