Will definitely look into if anyone else near me is going to the same school in case of opportunity to taxi/car share. I'm not sure what our chances are for appeal as we are not in direct catchment area (although at the time of application they said they didn't have one as they took kids from all over - they have been low-subscription for several years) and we don't have siblings or SEN to help with that. I think our best shot will be to go on the waiting list and hope that some of the second choices that got that school appeal and get their top choice as a result leaving some space for us to take their spot. Will enquire about appeals tho just in case and if it seems a possibility then I may PM you supersavvy if that's ok?

ok, dont shout at me BUT, you insurance wont cover car sharing. if your accepting money (for petrol) in a car share, it will then be classed as a buisness and unless you upgrade your insurance you wont be covered. also you will need a current C.R.B to cover your self. sorry.life is like a loo roll. the nearer the end you get, the faster it goes.0 -

re school placement, make an appeal asap, when other kids get into the preferred choice it may leave a place available at the schhol you wanted.
my eldest never got into the school i wanted, even after an appeal but on the 1st day they rang and offered her a place as a couple of students decieded not to go there.
my middle child i appealed the decision and she got in as after the kids that didnt want the places offered they was room for her.
and good luck with it.0 -
