I'll be honest I haven't ever tried to give blood. The few times i've had blood tests they have really struggled to get a vein for some reason, and it's made me really nervous around needles. One nurse was really snappy with me, and said 'how on earth do they usually get blood from you' .... like I was supposed to know! I don't have fat arms or anything, just in case anyone was wondering!!!

They always struggle to get blood out of me as well - one doc said my vein walls collapse or something like that - on my blood donor file they had left bleeder written on it in big letters then the next time I visited the left arm didn't work so I was marked as a right bleeder

Alas I border on anaemic and my blood was constantly failing the drop test so I stopped going

So that every single post that I contribute to this thread is on topic I would just like to say I am an elite 11+ member and I hear the unjust silence of my opinions whilst I am shopping in supermarkets mainly. Just sayin.

Happy, i'm not allowed to donate either as a Coeliac. There are lots of reasons they don't allow you to donate, as usual they err (sometimes ridiculously) on the side of caution.

    What does that mean?
