    Hello Elite

For those that didn't see me waffling on earlier, my fridge freezer broke last night. So I spent from 7am to 2pm cooking everything that had defrosted ..... I made/cooked

    beef casserole x 10 portions
    chicken casserole x 4
    lamb stew x 4
    bolognese x 4
    salmon fillets x 6
    chicken portions x 4
    steak stir fry x 3

On the plus side I did lose 6 pounds at SW, that's for the last 2 weeks, and therefore 2 stone in total :D
And my new fridge freezer arrives tomorrow evening.
Just catching up but had to say to Debsjc, well done on the cooking of all your defrosted meats... bet you don't want to see a saucepan for the next few months.
And congratulations on your weight lose, 2st is fantastic - you should be very proud of yourself.

Just thought I'd show you the reply I have received from Yodel re my SSM delivery which didn't ever arrive:
    Good Morning Mrs Jagger,
Thank you for making me aware of the issues that you and your daughter have had with your deliveries.
I am really sorry that you both have had such a poor experience with Yodel.
The issues that you have highlighted in relation to your delivery, have been fully investigated with the Service Centre Manager and the driver in question has been interviewed accordingly.
The driver has advised that a gentleman in a van who was leaving the property at the time of the delivery signed the scanner and requested that the driver left the parcel at the back door which the driver subsequently did, as he thought that he was doing right.
Unfortunately, the drivers actions have left you without your goods which I sincerely apologise.
I would like to advise you that the Service Centre have notified DISS the sender of your parcel of the problem that this has caused.
I note from your email that you have had further inconvenience by our systems allowing you to reschedule your delivery for the 16th April which should not have happened as parcels that have a delivered status cannot be rescheduled.
I have reported this issue to our IT department who are making the necessary investigations, but fully appreciate that this has added to the frustration and inconvenience.
Over the past few days, we have been experiencing a higher than forecasted call volume into our Contact Centre which has had an impact on wait times for our customers but is not our intention to cause this dissatisfaction.
In light of the situation, I have arranged for a cheque to be raised as a gesture of goodwill to cover the costs of your telephone calls which posted to your address.
    Yours sincerely,

    Morning all :D

Not a good start of the day for me, took over an hour to get to work, 3.5 miles !!!! Flipping council, two sets of road works... Traffic was dead past two weeks while the kids were off, so you'd think they would have done it then... There again we dont pay for common sense with our council tax....

    Hope everyones ok... :A

    Morning all..
Just been to S and used 5 coupons on the Palmolive :j Some were 87p and some were 83p, still in the "Hygiene range". :j:j Thanks OP.
I used SS, it only allowed me to use 2 coupons before it called CS over but she was lovely and very "non trout" like. It took £1 off for each coupon.

I always find it a shock when the SAs are so nice about coupons in Ss when you're used to shoppng in Ts!

    Definately in MK anyway!

    Evening all :j :j

Alan is feeling good today - doing things like fixing the car makes him feel normal .... not an invalid :D The only hangover from his work yesterday, is that his legs ache with all the kneeling and leaning over the van

It was raining really heavy this morning, then got out lovely and sunny, but it just went dark and started lashing down again :( Has been like that all day now, sunny and then sudden downpours. Farmers will be happy ;)

I rang Cambs CC at lunchtime to see what was happening about the Blue Badge to be told that they are all ready to issue it but are waiting for proof of ID and residency  I told them that I had taken these into CAB Wisbech on Thursday 5th April and the lady there was sending them in. She confirmed that they had not been received but gave me a Fax no for them to be faxed over asap. I then rang CAB and spoke to Una who confirmed that she had sent them straight in ........... to Norwich CC   She apologised but said she had rang for the correct address to send them to before they went out. She now didn't have copies of the documents, so I said, as we were going out later this afternoon, I would drop them in and she could fax them over, and I then gave her the Fax no

So I woke Alan up from a nap, he got dressed and we went out. We called at the car boot cafe first as they close at 3pm, for a cuppa, bacon sarnie and a read of the papers, and then went into town to pop the documents in to CAB. As I parked outside, Alan saw the 'closed' sign on the door and I went over to find they closed at 2.30 pm ..... and the time now was 2.45pm     Now why didn't she tell me that  It was about 1.40pm when I'd rang CAB, so, if she'd told me they were closing in less than an hour, we would have gone straight there ........................

I didn't want to just put them through the door as they weren't in an envelope and one of the docs was Alan's birth certificate. So, I either have to take them in first thing in the morning for them opening at 9.30am. I was soooooooo angry and quite upset about this. Everything else can been organised and dealt with promptly, but when it comes down to the financial side of things, we have had one thing after another go wrong :( This could and should have been all dealt with weeks ago, with no worry for us. Instead, I feel like we have had to fight all the way just to keep things moving. Rant ...... Rant .... Rant :p

No longer angry or upset, just sad :( We were even working out tonight if we should drive down to Cambridge tomorrow to take the forms in personally, but decided that we'd just take them to CAB in the morning. Mind you, I have just realised how many Mr T's we could pop into 'on the way' ......... :rotfl: :rotfl: Only kidding ;)

catching really quickly I'm not sure if that is the policy in your area or because of the cancer but the usual route to get a Blue Badge in our area is to go to the Social Services Dept of the council, ours is in a seperate place to the rest of the council offices, take £2, two recent passport photos, proof of DLA & proof of address. I'm not sure why the CAB have to get involved in the Blue Badge. You must have something in writing about Alan's cancer won't they accept that, the badge should be issued on the spot. Did you ask Cambs cc if you could drop in proof of ID & residency ? You could take his passport & driving licence as ID

Have you looked at cambs cc website re blue badge rules
