    Evening all :j :j

Alan is feeling good today - doing things like fixing the car makes him feel normal .... not an invalid :D The only hangover from his work yesterday, is that his legs ache with all the kneeling and leaning over the van

It was raining really heavy this morning, then got out lovely and sunny, but it just went dark and started lashing down again :( Has been like that all day now, sunny and then sudden downpours. Farmers will be happy ;)

I rang Cambs CC at lunchtime to see what was happening about the Blue Badge to be told that they are all ready to issue it but are waiting for proof of ID and residency  I told them that I had taken these into CAB Wisbech on Thursday 5th April and the lady there was sending them in. She confirmed that they had not been received but gave me a Fax no for them to be faxed over asap. I then rang CAB and spoke to Una who confirmed that she had sent them straight in ........... to Norwich CC   She apologised but said she had rang for the correct address to send them to before they went out. She now didn't have copies of the documents, so I said, as we were going out later this afternoon, I would drop them in and she could fax them over, and I then gave her the Fax no

So I woke Alan up from a nap, he got dressed and we went out. We called at the car boot cafe first as they close at 3pm, for a cuppa, bacon sarnie and a read of the papers, and then went into town to pop the documents in to CAB. As I parked outside, Alan saw the 'closed' sign on the door and I went over to find they closed at 2.30 pm ..... and the time now was 2.45pm     Now why didn't she tell me that  It was about 1.40pm when I'd rang CAB, so, if she'd told me they were closing in less than an hour, we would have gone straight there ........................

I didn't want to just put them through the door as they weren't in an envelope and one of the docs was Alan's birth certificate. So, I either have to take them in first thing in the morning for them opening at 9.30am. I was soooooooo angry and quite upset about this. Everything else can been organised and dealt with promptly, but when it comes down to the financial side of things, we have had one thing after another go wrong :( This could and should have been all dealt with weeks ago, with no worry for us. Instead, I feel like we have had to fight all the way just to keep things moving. Rant ...... Rant .... Rant :p

No longer angry or upset, just sad :( We were even working out tonight if we should drive down to Cambridge tomorrow to take the forms in personally, but decided that we'd just take them to CAB in the morning. Mind you, I have just realised how many Mr T's we could pop into 'on the way' ......... :rotfl: :rotfl: Only kidding ;)

Finally caught up but will say
    goodnight all
due to still being doped up on meds and feeling very tired, also someone's been bad out there, a helicopter has been hovering about every so often overhead and the last time that happened someone had been shot quite close by. Need to catch up on sleep.
I've got to get shopping for afterschool club, we're making pizzas from scratch with them. Should be fun but messy :)

Thankyou for keeping us updated.... so glad about Alan being able to fix the car. Good for him!
OMG about your blue badge issues.... how come when it's obvious you need it really quickly it seems to take forever..... I put in for Mums yesterday, she could have had one sooner, but we have managed without knowing some folk are much worse off.... but now we know she's gonna need 5 weeks of chemo and radio therapy we need hers quickly too! And we live where your documents went to... lets hope my Mums don't end up at your CC office!
Perhaps we should have applied for each others.... they may have come through sooner!!!!
Thinking of you both, Good Luck at the CAB. x

3Dogs sorry that you have had all this bother today. Just dont understand some people, it would have not taken much to tell you that they were closing. Thought that CAB people were trained better than that. No wonder you were miffed.
Like the idea of the trip via all the Mr T's. It could be a mini MSE roadshow!
